Mrs. Beatrice Laverne Presley, 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, May 14th, at Good Hope Baptist Church, with Rev. Mike Ingram and Rev. Jason Gross officiating. Visitation will be Friday at Good Hope Baptist Church from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Interment will be in Good Hope Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Presley was born on March 16, 1934, South Holland, IL. She was a homemaker and a seamstress who loved to sew for her family. She made wedding dresses for all three daughters. She was a faithful member of Good Hope Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir as long as she was able.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Presley, Sr.; her parents, Henry and Agnes Hoeksema; her brother, Carl Hoeksema; and her in-laws, Pete Jansma, Syble (Carter) Ferguson, Bonnie (Howard) Waddell, and Morris Presley.
Mrs. Presley is survived by three daughters, Karen (Danny) Trosper of Louisville, Bonnie (Chris) Creekmore of Louisville, and Nancy (Tony) Cooper of Cumming, GA; a son, Johnny (Beth) Presley of Water Valley, MS; brothers, Harold (Theone) Hoeksema, Henry (Joyce) Hoeksema, and John (Judy) Hoeksema; a sister, Joyce Jansma; sister-in-law, Sylvia Hoeksema; grandchildren, Everett (Megan) Presley, Paul (Katrina) Trosper, Rachel (Heath) Robertson, Tressa (Brandon) McLeod, Jessica (Jacob) Robbins, Jonathan (Shelby) Creekmore, Katelyn Cooper, and Trevor Cooper; great grandchildren, Gabriel Trosper, Caleb Trosper, Holden Robertson, Carson Robbins, Callan Robertson, Colton Robbins, Amelia McLeod, Carly Robbins, Hendrik Presley, Caden Robbins, and Camille Robbins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Paul Trosper, Jonathan Creekmore, Ricky Patterson, Heath Robertson, Jacob Robbins, and Brandon McLeod.
Honorary pallbearers will be Everett Presley, Trevor Cooper, Danny Trosper, Chris Creekmore, Tony Cooper, Sonny Presley, Bennie Mac Joiner, Lester Holdiness, and Michael Presley.
