Philip Jordon Linley, 27, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Linley and Rev. Matt Moehring officiating. Interment will follow in Old Mars Hill Cemetery.
He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church and worked as a conductor for Kansas City Southern Railroad. Philip loved being outdoors; he was an avid Mississippi State fan and a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Traci Whitehead Linley; his parents, Tony and Robbie Hester Linley; his son, Sage Linley; and his brother, Brad Linley; all of Louisville. He is also survived by his grandparents: Robert Earl Hester of Vernon, Alabama; Mildred Murff of Aberdeen, Mississippi; and Jackie and Idell Oglesby of Louisville; his mother-in-law, Jan Whitehead; brothers-in-law, Trey Whitehead and wife, Lauren; Trent Whitehead and son, Peyton; sister-in-law, Dawn Graham and sons, Bradley and Branson Baysinger; and his father-in-law, Mike Whitehead. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Linda Jacobs; his grandfather, Rayburn Linley; and his brother, Anthony Chadwick Linley.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lance Blanton, J. J. Johnson, Roosevelt Lee, Kyle Martin, Caleb Swearingen, Robert Ward and Haig Butler. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
