Olean Hemphill Pickett


Mrs. Olean Hemphill Pickett, 90, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012, at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in LouisvilleMississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home inLouisvilleMississippi, on Saturday, February 11, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel inLouisvilleMississippi, with Rev. Jerry Lundy and Rev. Tommy Cherry officiating.  Interment will be inEllison Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery

Mrs. Pickett was born June 2, 1921.  She was a member of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church, and she worked as a Shade Marker at Angelica.

Mrs. Pickett is survived by three daughters:  Elizabeth Kemp and husband, Jerry; Judy Allman and husband, Bob; and Kathy Carr and husband, Dewane, all of LouisvilleMississippi.  She is also survived by one son, Perry Hemphill and wife, Dian, also of LouisvilleMississippi. Mrs. Pickett also has seven grandchildren:  Belynda Petroski, Michael Kemp, Lori Luke, Jennifer Collins, Chris Hemphill, Breck Allman, and Jay Allman as well as six great-grandchildren:  Josh Petroski, Ashley Luke, Emily Luke, Jonah Collins, and Eva and Chase Allman. She is preceded in death by her husbands, W. T. Hemphill and Horace Pickett; her parents, Ruff and Jennetter Reed; her son, Jerry Hemphill; a great-grandchild, Kaylee Allman; five sisters and three brothers..

Pallbearers will be Michael Kemp, Cliff Luke, Chris Hemphill, Jimmy Collins, Jay Allman, and Breck Allman.
