Mrs. Hazel Flake, 83, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Anderson Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi, with Rev. Mason Joy officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Methodist Cemetery.
Born on February 3, 1929, Mrs. Flake was a member of East Louisville Baptist Church. She was a retired beautician and a Wal-Mart associate.
Mrs. Flake is survived by her husband, James Clinton Flake of Louisville, Mississippi; her daughter, Janys Jones and husband, Nolen "Curly", of Walnut Grove, Mississippi; and two sons, Jimmie Flake and wife, Faye, of Sturgis, Missisippi; and David C. Flake and wife, Diane, of Bogue Chitto, Mississippi. She is also survived by three sisters: Nadine Culpepper; Katherine Frazier and husband, Fred; and Annie Sue Holder, and one brother, Harley Eaves and wife, Janie, all of Louisville, Mississippi. Mrs. Flake has six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Gussie Mae Hisaw Eaves and her brother, Billy Joe Eaves.
Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Flake, Chris Flake, Lee Flake, Eli Jones, Danny Frazier, and Ronnie Flake.
