Frances was born December 14, 1937, in Louisville, MS. She attended Ford High School and Louisville High School. She went to work at the Mississippi State Hospital in Whitfield, where she met J. W. Spears. They married and spent all of her life in Brandon and Pearl. She worked as a secretary for S. N. Thomas & Sons, a wholesale dry goods company. She was a longtime faithful member of Grace Baptist Church. Frances loved cooking, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved her flowers (potted) and working in her garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wallace “J.W.” Spears; one son, Dave Spears; her parents, Wilmon D. and Ollie Mae Kelly Carr; and her sisters, Agnes Landberg and Emma Hyde.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam (Mike) Broadway of Brandon, MS; one son, Jim Spears of Brandon, MS; 4 grandchildren, Zachary Spears, Joshua (Nay) Broadway, Joseph (Karie) Broadway, and Whitney (Kerron) Spann; and her great grandchildren, Ashlyn Spears, Amery Spears, Bryson Spears, Isaiah Broadway, Jacob Broadway, Ally Cirino, Elijah Broadway, Brinleigh Ray, Tre’ Spann, and Charlie Spann.
Pallbearers will be Mike Broadway, Joshua Broadway, Joseph Broadway, Kerron Spann, Zachary Spears, Barry Storey, Isaiah Broadway, and Danny Mills.
