Graveside Service for Idell Green Stokes will be held Friday, April 5, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Goodin Cemetery with Rev. Vernell Daniels officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, April 5, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stokes, 82, of Preston , died Thursday, April 4, 2019.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Kemper County. She worked at Wells Lamont Glove Factory in Philadelphia until her retirement. Mrs. Stokes was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for several years.
Survivors include her daughters, Joy Griffin (Lamar) of Preston, Cindy Linton (Butch) of Meridian; sons, Mike Stokes (Patricia) of Louisville, Doug Stokes (Melonie) of Porterville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Marlon Hall of Vicksburg; a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her husband, Delano Stokes; sisters, Maxine McDonald and Florrie Green; brothers, E.J. Green and Junior Green.
