Mrs. Doris Nell Reed, 85, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 15th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Melvin Chase officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Good Hope Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Reed was born October 28, 1933, in Noxubee County, MS. She was a homemaker and attended New Life Apostolic Church in Louisville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Walter Reed; her parents, Annie and Henry Holdiness; three sisters, Evie Mae Cook, Mamie Cook, and Faye Gregory; and six brothers, Billy Holdiness, John Holdiness, Max Holdiness, Barney Holdiness, James Henry Holdiness, and Robert Holdiness.
She is survived by two brothers, J. W. Holdiness and Kellis Holdiness, both of Louisville; and special friends, Joy and Jerome Lovorn, Misty and Keith King, and Mandy and Wesley Bradley.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Ferguson, Dacey Ferguson, Ricky Holdiness, Steven Hutchison, Ricky Morgan, and Lester Holdiness.
Memorials may be made to Good Hope Cemetery Fund.
