Nan Carr, 82, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be Monday, January 28, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Nan was born February 11, 1936, to Roy and Mattie Taylor Stevenson. She was a member of Center Ridge United Methodist Church and a member of the Winston Garden Club. Nan was an avid outdoors person; she always enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. For many years, she served as the dietician for Tri-County Nursing Home in Louisville.
Nan is survived by her children: Nancy Carr; Mike Carr and wife Becky; and Beth Watkins and husband Hank all of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “MaMaw” to her four grandchildren: Holly (Patrick) Hall; Lauren (Billy) Copas; Bud Carr; and Brandi Watkins; as well as her eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, Jimmy Stevenson and wife Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nan was preceded in death by her husband William B. “Doc” Carr; her parents; her sisters: Sue Stephenson, Narvell Black, Viola Stevenson, and Lucille Stephenson; and three brothers: Charlie, Hayes, and Robert Stevenson.
Serving as pallbearers are Bud Carr, Billy Copas, Caleb Hall, Patrick Hall, Danny Mills, and Hank Watkins. Memorials in honor of Nan may be given to Center Ridge Cemetery Fund, c/o Martha Mills, 1584 Spay Road, McCool, MS 39108
