Taylor was born September 18, 1965, to Larry Taylor Shurden, Sr., and Judy Kuhn Shurden in Louisville. During his careers, he worked at Georgia Pacific, on an off shore rig, and locally at Fred’s Dollar Store. He enjoyed spending time with his son, Ben; and they loved to fish. He was an avid football fan; a great football player during high school at Winston Academy under one of his favorite people, Coach Robert Herring; and he loved to watch the Pittsburg Steelers.
Taylor is survived by his wife, Dawn Prescott Shurden of Louisville; his son, Benjamin Taylor Shurden; his mother, Judy Shurden; and brother, Jeffrey Shurden all of Mathiston, Mississippi; and his sister, Julie Shurden, of Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Taylor Shurden, Sr.
Serving as pallbearers are Richard Beard, Jimmy Commer, Greg Henderson, Randy Jackson, Murray Lowery, and Dennis Russell. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Land and Bill Sullivan.
