Mrs. Dorothy B. Andrews, 79, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the Neshoba General Hospital in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Friday, July 19, 2013, from 10 until service time. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Andrews was born on September 27, 1933, to Earnest Lee and Patty Burton Box. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and she was a retired guard at the Mississippi State Penitentiary.
Mrs. Andrews is survived by four sons, James Edwards (Gloria), Allen Edwards (Vicky Lee), Morgan Glenn Murphy (Dachelle), all of Louisville, and Daniel Murphy (Meagan) of Walthall, Mississippi; one sister, Elaine Hodges of Starkville, Mississippi; and one brother, Shelby Box, of Columbus, Mississippi. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Andrews is preceded in death by her husbands, Jimmy G. Edwards and Bobby Glenn Murphy; her son, Clifton Edwards; her grandson, Justin “JJ” Edwards; her parents; and her daughter-in-law, Avery Dianne Edwards.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Edwards, Matthew Key, Jimbo Hartfield, George Hodges, Donnie Bryant, and Tim Carpenter. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Smith, Trace Edwards and Ace Edwards.
