Ronald Reid Ivester was born on January 18, 1958 and died on May 5, 2013. He was 55. Reid was co-owner and general manager of Crowson Auto World in Louisville, and co-owner of the Gateway Cinema in Kosciusko.
Reid loved life, was an avid golfer, a Wednesday night poker player with his golfing buddies. He loved tailgating with his sons and friends at Mississippi State football games. He loved traveling and spending time with his family. Reid is survived by his wife, Emma; two sons, J. D. and Austin Ivester of Kosciusko; daughter, Amanda Ivester of Memphis, TN; parents, Joe and Nancy Ivester of Anderson, SC; brother, Tracey Ivester of Gaffney, SC; sister, Lynn Reed of Easley, SC; mother-in-law, Jean Bingham of Kosciusko; three nephews, four nieces; one great nephew, one great niece; and two beloved dogs, Roxie and Coco. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, from 5-8 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday (today) at 11 a.m. in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Old Plank Cemetery near Vaiden. Pallbearers are Ricky Pee, Bob Jordan, Scott Watkins, Denny Terrell, Ricky Sanders, David Ray, Jonathan Nunn, and Jonathan Powers.
