Mr. White was born on June 13, 1925, to Jesse Mabrey and Jennie Mary Varner White. He worked in construction and later retired as a truck driver with Taylor Machine Works of Louisville. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville and a member of the Winston County Shrine Club. Mr. White answered the call of his country by serving in the 5th Infantry Division during World War II in the United States Army. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Germany for which he received a Purple Heart. Mr. White is a Mason #75 York-Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite Bodies and he was also a member of the Disabled Veterans of Foreign War. An avid outdoorsman, he loved working on his small cattle farm and hunting; he was a member of the Yours and Mine Hunting Club.
Mr. White is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathleen Garvin White; three daughters, Judy Cother and husband, Bill, of Tupelo, Mississippi; Jeanith Burdine and husband, Bobby, of Ackerman, Mississippi; and Margaret White of Louisville; and his son, JackWhite and wife, Terri, of Louin, Mississippi. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Anna Beth Williams (Kevin); Jesse Cother; Steven Miller (Amanda); Leslie Collins (Blake); Andrew Miller (Jade); Melanie Collier (Brad); Veronica Martin (Jason); and Natalie White. He also has six great-grandchildren: Sarah Kathleen Williams, Paisley Grace Williams, Jacob Miller, Tate Miller, Reese Collier, and Madalyn Collier. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters, Jeanith Modene White and Maxine Elvie White.
