Marvin Earl White

Marvin E White, PhD, better known as Poppy, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, quietly at home surrounded by love. He endured a long battle with cancer and Parkinson’s disease and fought with a smile and constant love. He wore many hats throughout his lifetime, psychologist, architect, air traffic controller, Vietnam veteran, devoted husband and father. He gained numerous awards and achievements throughout his life, excelling at whatever he chose.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life Elizabeth Ann White. Born in Amite, LA, a long time Gulf Coast resident, he moved to the Louisville area to begin anew after the wrath of Hurricane Katrina.

He is survived by his beautiful grandchildren Carrie Elizabeth, Dakota, and Sydney all from the Mississippi coast. In addition, a loving daughter in law, Trina, his remaining sister Bennie and two sons, Timothy, and Thomas. He leaves behind a true legacy, grateful memories, and tremendous love, never to be forgotten and will be missed beyond measure.
