Arthur Wayne was born on May 31, 2013, to Arthur Wayne Freeman, Sr., and Carol Ann Matthews Freeman of Louisville. He is survived by three sisters, Helen Freeman, Katherine Freeman, and Jamie Freeman; and by his nephew, James Daniel Freeman. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Barbara Helen Parker of Laurens, South Carolina; his paternal grandfather, Ronald D. Rogers of Louisville; maternal grandparents, Eddie and Renee Matthews; and maternal great-grandparents, Dwight and Carolyn Matthews all of Lexington, Mississippi. Arthur is preceded in death by his brother, James Daniel McGlawn and his paternal grandfather, Arthur Freeman.

Mr. James Pearson "Doc” Flake, 76, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, MS. Mr. Flake was born February 4, 1937, in Winston County, MS. He was a retired truck driver, and a member of Zion Chapel Pentecostal Church.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lil Childress Flake of Louisville; son, Keith (Clarissa) Flake of Louisville; daughter, Tammy Flake Eaves of Louisville; Grandchildren: Tyler & Taylor Flake, Charleigh, and Kingsley; brothers, Jeff (Gloria) Flake and Paul (Dell) Flake, both of Louisville; sisters, Bobbie Nell (Delton) Moore of Powder Springs, GA, and Glenda (Jimmy) Burrage of Louisville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Tabor and Jennie Ruth Foster Flake; and sisters, Myrtle Ruth Flake, Annie Frances Flake Crick, and Sherry Flake Stewart.

Pallbearers will be Danny Fuller, Robby Fuller, Jeffrey Eubanks, Jamie Flake, Ronnie Flake, and Carl Flake.

He was a man who loved the Lord, his wife, his children, and his grandchildren.

James Forrest Cagle

James Forrest Cagle, 72, died July 15, 2013, at home surrounded by his family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 18, 2013, at the chapel of Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Jessamine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesdayat the funeral home and will continue at 1:00 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Cagle was born on November 18, 1940, in Louisville, MS, the son of the late Forrest and Fleda Cagle. A graduate of East Central Community College, he worked for over 30 years for Entergy (MP&L) as a lineman in the Rankin and Madison county offices.
Mr. Cagle was an avid Mississippi State fan. He was a member of the Wahabi Shrine and was active in the clown unit, serving numerous times as Captain of the unit. Mr. Cagle assisted transporting many children to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children in Shreveport, LA, and Galveston, TX. He was a member of the Leavell Woods Masonic Lodge # 620, where he is a Past Master. He was a Member of Local IBEW #605. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and was recognized as a true grandson of confederate hero, Private James Pinkney Cagle.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Deane Cagle. Survivors include: son, Louis Daniel Barksdale (Nancy) of Brandon; son, Herchell Byron Roebuck of Scott, LA; daughter, Regenia Roebuck Johnson of Gluckstadt; son, Mark Everette Roebuck (Becky) of Meridian; son, William Kelly Hyde of Ocoee, FL; daughter, Renae Cagle Grissett of Ridgeland; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Steven Gage Cagle of Louisville; sisters, Sara Cagle Crawford of Marion, AR; Rebecca Cagle Carson of Louisville; Dorothy Cagle McDaniel of Marion, AR; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Donna Beatty of Pulaski. Miss. Joe, 24, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. She enjoyed playing softball and spending time with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Reed Joe and Peggy Sue Tubby; grandparents, Fannie and Norman Tubby, Munch and Emma Joe.

Survivors include her sister, Karla Joe and brother, Michael Joe.

Miss. Esther Watkins

Miss Esther Watkins of Philadelphia, died on July 8, 2013,  at age 97.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 10 a.m.

at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Philadelphia.  Burial will follow in

Cedarlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday,

July 12, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.

Esther was the daughter of Dr. Thaddeus Earl Watkins, Sr. and Nettie

Elizabeth Watkins Duncan.  She was also preceded in death by her brother,

Thaddeus Earl Watkins, Jr. and a nephew, John Watkins.

A longtime resident of Philadelphia, Esther earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree at MSCW,

 a Masters Degree in History at the University of Alabama, a Masters Degree in Special

Education at Mississippi State University.  While a graduate student at the University of

Alabama, she wrote a comprehensive history of Neshoba County.

  

Miss Watkins, a dedicated teacher, taught English and special education

at Philadelphia High School for almost 50 years.  She gave of herself in

and out of the classroom and touched the lives of many students.  She

was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church where she served

her faith community.  She loved to paint, read and travel and will be

remembered by those who knew her for her generosity, kindness and

 selflessness.

Esther is survived by her sister, Mildred Watkins Wilson of Louisville; a

sister-in-law, Louise Watkins of Nashville, TN; nieces, Carol Wilson

Kramer (Fred) of St. Louis, MO, Elizabeth Watkins Saunders (Kevin)

of Hendersonville, TN and Esther Watkins Gulli (Chris) of Oakland, CA;

 nephews, David Wilson, Jr. of Louisville, Thaddeus Earl Watkins, III

(Christy) of Nashville, TN and Jim Watkins (Susan) of Rome , GA.; numerous

great nieces and nephews and three great-great- nephews.

She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews who were blessed

to call her Aunt Esther.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Quality Hospice and her

loving caregivers, Barbara Haskins, Mary Despiegler, Joyce Chisolm and

Else Parney.

Mrs. Palone was born November 23, 1936, in Canton, OH. She was a retired nurse’s aid; and a member of Blythe Creek Baptist Church in Chester, MS.

She is survived by her sons, William Nelson of Louisville, MS, and John Nelson of North Canton, OH; step-sons, Frank McCleer of Greenville, SC, Rick McCleer of Tulsa, OK, and Tommy McCleer of Louisville, MS; step-daughters Pat Witten of Greenville, SC, Penelope Ann Palone of Phoenix, AZ, and Loretta Peery of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Jonathan Nelson, Adam Nelson, Jessica Nelson, Samantha Nelson, Sarah Nelson, Rachel Nelson, Laura Nelson, Daniel Nelson, Elijah Nelson, Tess Nelson, and Grace Nelson; and great grandchildren, Angela Fishel, Abby Fishel, Allen Fishel, and Owen Sheridan. Mrs. Palone also had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren from her marriage to Harold Palone.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William James Nelson and Harold Palone; her parents, Mildred Clark and Harold Hackathorn; brothers, Edward Hackathorn, William Hackathorn, and Ronald Hackathorn; and sisters, Evelyn Passwaters, and Kathy Miller.
