Patricia Quinn Hensley, 82, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Graveside services and interment will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 20 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Noxapater, Mississippi, with Rev. Chris Vowell officiating.
Patricia was born February 8, 1938, to Marcellus and Maureen Watts Quinn in Noxapater, Mississippi. She was a graduate of Noxapater High School and a member of Noxapater Baptist Church. Patricia had loved others and always put others first. She was a homemaker and a wonderful friend to many; she loved to laugh and enjoyed life. She dearly loved and was so proud of her family. Patricia had a servant’s heart and was well-known in her community for her tea cakes. These were served numerous times at church meals and were given to those in the community who were sick or recuperating from surgery.
Patricia is survived by her son James Quintin Hensley and wife Carla of Columbus, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Mama Trish” to her grandchildren Lauren Hensley (Tyler) Cook and James Dylan (Masa) Hensley. She also leaves behind to mourn her passing four great-grandchildren: James Bowen Hensley, Thomas Holt Cook, Mera Quinn Hensley, and Carlee Elizabeth Cook; as well as a host of loving nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years James Nick Hensley, her infant son John Marcellus Hensley, and her parents.
Serving as pallbearers are Tyler Cook, Dylan Hensley, Thomas Barnes, Ben Kirk, Al Massey, and Devon Vowell. Honorary pallbearers are James Boyd Allen, Larry Pierce Bryant, Sammy Carter, Jerry Estes, Jimmy Wayne Kemp, Randy Kemp, Douglas McAdory, and John Winans. Memorials in honor of Patricia may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or to Mt. Carmel Cemetery Fund, c/o Noxapater Baptist Church, P. O. Box 251, Noxapater, MS 39346.
