Thelma was born on November 10, 1934 to Elbert and Lenora Clark McDaniel. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Columbus. Thelma retired after working as an Inspector for 34 years at United Technologies. One of her favorite hobbies was gardening.
Thelma is preceded in death by her husband, James C. Knighton, of 61 years. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Lenora Clark McDaniel, four brothers, James, T.J., Wayne and Charles McDaniel. She is also preceded in death by one sister, Agnes McDaniel Warren Ruth. She is survived by two sisters, Eunice McDaniel Warren Chitry, Batesville, Mississippi and Nora McDaniel Green, Terry, Mississippi. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law, Dale Benson, Ann Fisher, Jean McCool and Nancy Allgood. Thelma is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved their “Aunt Thelma” and she loved them.
Thelma’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the member of the LHC Group Hospice in Columbus for their devoted care to her. Also, we would like to thank all of the Nurses on the 3rd Floor and the kindness that they showed our loved one with their continuous care and daily updates of her health. Also, we would like to extend special thanks to Dennis and Robin Wilkerson and Ann Fisher for their dedication to Thelma’s wellbeing and care. From the bottom of hearts, we thank you all for your care and love for Thelma.
