Larry was born April 4, 1951, to Allen and Olene Hamill Spence. He was a graduate of Louisville High School Class of 1969. Larry enjoyed watching football, especially Ole Miss and Mississippi State. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and cooking out. Larry answered the call of his country by serving for several years in the National Guard and he was a Mason.
Larry is survived by his wife Carolyn Spence; and three sons: Alan Spence, Chris Spence, and Tyler Strong. He is also survived by two sisters Janice Spence Love and Shirley Spence Miller; and his brother Jimmy Spence and wife Martha. One of his greatest joys was being “Pow Pow” to his five grandchildren whom he dearly loved: Austin Spence, Alysia Spence, Lexie Gray, Ava Strong, and Ryleigh Maycock. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all of whom loved him so much. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Barbara Spence Cherry.
Memorials in honor of Larry may be given to Nowell Massey Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
