Billy Keith was born November 29, 1943, in Winston County, Mississippi, to Herbert and Cynthia Holman Johnson. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and farming. He was known for growing large patches of peas, butterbeans, and sugar cane. Billy Keith drove at the fastest 20 mph and always had time to stop and visit with others, telling his tall tales.
Billy Keith is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra Johnson; and his children: Joe Johnson and wife, Tanya, all of Louisville; Susan Bane of Pensacola, Florida; and John Bane also of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Paw” to his four grandchildren: Wil Bane, Jarrett Bane, Morgan Trosper, and Sarah Trosper. Also left to mourn his passing is his sister, Betty McMillan of Grenada, Mississippi; and his brother, Randall Johnson and wife, Kathy, of Noxapater, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Serving as pallbearers are Damon Fulcher, Rodney Fulton, Roger Garrard, Tim Parker, Chris Wells and David Wells. Honorary pallbearers are John Clark, Charles Henry Stokes, Arnie Strait, Shorty Wells, and the Harmony Adult Men’s Sunday School class.
