Originally from Noxapater, then Louisville, Ms. Webb was a resident at Lackey Memorial Convalescent Home for the last almost 5 years. Miss Webb's family includes her beloved sister in law, Ruby Webb, (Kansas City, Missouri) and her brother, John Webb (Nancy). Preceeding her in death were her mother and father, Zora Alma Saucier Webb and John Foster Webb; her sister, Elizabeth Webb Gatewood (Verner Lee); her brothers, Haskell Webb (Margaret); James Webb (Anna Bertha); and Hamlet Webb. Other relatives include a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, who live nearby and across the country as well.
Ms. Webb received medical training at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. She was then employed at the Philadelphia Hospital as a radiologist; then at Louisvillle Hospital; and lastly at Dr. Richardsons's clinic in Louisville, as a lab technician.
Ms. Webb was an active member of Louisville First United Methodist Church for many years. She was a gifted Sunday School teacher of the Senior Adult Class, " The Sunshine Class" for 38 consecutive years.
Ms.Webb was an accomplished violinist. She was often asked to perform at club events in the area. She was a lay minister for her church.
"Aunt Sarah" was a founding member of the Louisville Daylily Club. She so enjoyed giving tours of her beautiful yard, explaining the names of each lily, and pointing out the lilies she hybridized herself. Her legacy lives on with the beautiful plants she shared with many friends and family.
One of Aunt Sarah's many hobbies was putting together and then painting model cars. She loved to go fishing, especially at her sister and brother-in -law's farm in Scott County, sometimes bringing "homebound" friends with her to enjoy the day.
She was a compassionate caregiver/companion for Mrs. John Fair for several years. Aunt Sarah would "help out" at friends' or family member's homes in the event of illness or a death in the family, staying as long as there was a need.
The family would like to thank Dr. John P. Lee for the medical care he provided while she was in Forest. Also deepest appreciation to the entire staff at Lackey Memorial Convalescent Home, for the excellent care they provided for our beloved Aunt Sarah.
