Mr. William Brooks Oswalt, 84, died Sunday, April 10, 2016, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 13th, at South Louisville Baptist Church, with Rev. Chris Kiepe, Rev. Trent Jaudon, and Rev. Ron McDougald officiating. Visitation will be at South Louisville Baptist Church on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Interment will be in Blythe Creek Cemetery in Choctaw County, MS. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Oswalt was born September 10, 1931, in Choctaw County, MS. He attended the University of Memphis and the University of Tennessee. He was zone manager of Ford Motor Company, Tractor division. He and his wife lived in Memphis, TN for 28 years, in Murray, KY for 26 years, where he served as a deacon for over 50 years at Havenview Baptist Church and Elm Grove Baptist Church. He and his wife moved to Louisville in 2006 to be near family. He was a member of South Louisville Baptist Church in Louisville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Oswalt; his parents, Mae Brooks and Sam Oswalt; and a brother, Lowell Oswalt.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Jones of Louisville, MS, and Rachel (Chris) Kiepe of Philadelphia, MS; five grandchildren, Annaliese (Lee) Johnson, Alexis (Zane) Williams, Andrew Kiepe, Emily Jones, and Dylan Jones; and three great grandchildren, Aubrey Johnson, Olivia Johnson, and Lakelyn Williams; two sisters, Peggy Davis of Clarksdale, MS, and Jane Norton of Baytown, TX; and two brothers, Ray Oswalt of Birmingham, AL, and Gary Oswalt of Ackerman.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Kiepe, Lee Johnson, Zane Williams, Bob Moncrief, Dylan Jones, and Brian Pullen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Oswalt, Gary Oswalt, and Sammy Oswalt.
