Mr. Rhodes was born February 16, 1928, in Louisville, MS. He was a graduate of Sturgis High School, and served with the U. S. Coast Guard in the World War II and the Korean War. He was a retired mechanic and a member of Betheden Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elva Horton and Homer Rhodes; two sisters, Louise Patterson and Lula Mae McKay; and three brothers, Harvey Rhodes, Horace Rhodes, and Charles Rhodes.
He is survived by a sister, Hazel Smith of Sturgis, MS; a brother, Jimmy Rhodes of Brighton, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
