Embree Hisaw, 85, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 12, 2015, at his residence in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 4:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel Rev. Billy James and Rev. T. J. Jennings officiating. Following Masonic rites, interment will follow in Ellison Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Embree was born on June 9, 1929, to Robert Edwin and Annie Beth Fuller Hisaw. He was a member of East Louisville Baptist Church; a member of Masonic Lodge #75; and a member of Eastern Star #60. He retired after working 39 years at Taylor Machine Works as a material handler. Mr. Hisaw is survived by his daughter, Emily Hisaw Winstead and husband, Marshal; and three grandchildren: Brad Winstead and wife Tiffany; Brant Winstead and wife Leaha; all of Philadelphia; and Brook Addy and husband, Jody, of Decatur, Mississippi. He loved being “Granddaddy” to five great-grandchildren: Aubry Morgan Winstead; Ben Winstead; Riley Winstead; Eli Winstead; and Jeb Addy. He is also survived by four sisters: Bert Hisaw; Joy Ming; Dorothy Gutierrez and husband, Joe; and Gayle Persons; and by three sisters-in-law: Carolyn Hisaw; Susan Hisaw; and Myrtle Mae Eaves. Mr. Hisaw is preceded in death by his wife, Willie Pearl Hisaw; his parents; and two brothers, Marion Hisaw and Berlin Hisaw; and his sister, Fanny Hisaw.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jody Addy, Scott Eaves, Stanley Eaves, Steve Eaves, Jerry Hill, Robert Hisaw, Joe Williams, Brad Winstead, and Brant Winstead. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Cockrell, Johnny Eaves, Charles Gill, Larry Hemphill, David Livingston, Bobby McKay, Larry Mayo, Larry Moorehead, Kenny Persons, Billy Ray Shields, Edward Stokes, Allen Strickland, and David Walker. Granddaddy will also have “Angel” Pallbearers: Aubry Morgan Winstead, Riley Winstead, Ben Winstead, Eli Winstead, and Jeb Addy.
