Mr. Darwin D Whitmire

Mr. Darwin D. Whitmire, 84, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Crossgates RiverOaks Hospital in Brandon, Mississippi. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 23, 2012, from 9 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Trent Jaudon officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Whitmire was born on October 18, 1928. He was a member of South Louisville Baptist Church, a former Mason, and he retired from the United States Air Force after serving 20 years.

Mr. Whitmire is survived by his wife, Marzene P. Whitmire of Louisville, Mississippi; and three sons: Steve Michael Whitmire (Sandra) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Alan Wayne Whitmire (Georgia) of Columbus, Mississippi; and Kenneth Earl Whitmire (June) of Albany, Georgia. He is also survived by two sisters: Juanita Rodgers (James E.) and Linda Swain (David) all of Louisville,Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip M. and Elva Mae Adams Whitmire; his sister, Bettye Jean Stewart; two nephews, Mike Swain and Dan Stewart; and his great-niece, Tammy Roland.
