Mrs. Christine Johnson Morgan, 82, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Sunday, April 22, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012, at Hopewell Baptist Church in McCool, Mississippi, with Rev. Tim Black and Don Calcote officiating. Interment will be in Lakewood Memorial Parks Cemetery in Jackson, Mississippi.
Born on April 30, 1929, Mrs. Morgan was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Calcote and husband, Don, of Meridian, Mississippi, and her son, Billy Morgan, and wife, Sandra, of Louisville, Mississippi. She is also survived by two sisters, Vivian Cleo Johnson of McCool, Mississippi, and Mary Francis Tharp of Petal, Mississippi. Mrs. Morgan has four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Van Garvis Morgan as well as her parents, Allen Lonnie and Mary A. Putnam Johnson.
