Hershel was born August 15, 1940, to Quinton and Dwight Kemp Rogers in Winston County. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Hershel was an avid reader and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Hershel is survived by his daughter, Bettie Lewis (David) of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Grand Paw” to his grandson Chad Lewis. He also leaves behind his sister, Becky Wright (Billly) of Starkville, Mississippi, his brother, Ronald Dale Rogers of Vicksburg, Mississippi, his sister-in-law, Helen Rogers, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by wife Irene Rogers; his parents; and his brother, Wendell Rogers.
Serving as pallbearers are Chad Lewis, Austin Truhett, and Drew Jones.
