Betty Ruth Metts Fulcher-Long, 99, passed away with her loving family at her side on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at BeeHive Homes in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 14 at Rocky Hill Church with Reverends Bo Jeffares and Keith Williams officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow the service in Rocky Hill Cemetery with Reverend Trent Jaudon officiating.
Betty Ruth is survived by her children: Bobby (Glenda) Fulcher of Quitman, Mississippi; Beth (Bob) Jeffares of Meridian, Mississippi; and Rebecca (Don) Rogers of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Grandmother” to her grandchildren: Lance Fulcher, Kyle Fulcher, Bo Jeffares, Christopher Jeffares, Amy Rogers, Tyler Rogers, and Tate Rogers; in addition to her 14 great-grandchildren. Betty Ruth is also survived by her brother, James E. “Deedye” Metts; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Betty Ruth is preceded in death by her husbands, James Udell “Bud” Fulcher and John L. Long; her parents; and an infant daughter.
Serving as pallbearers are Lance Fulcher, Kyle Fulcher, Christopher Jeffares, Tyler Rogers, Tate Rogers, Landon Fulcher, and Camden Fulcher. Memorials in honor of Betty Ruth may be given to Rocky Hill Church, c/o Albert Moore, 2224 Rocky Hill Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
