Elsie Faye King

Elsie Faye King, 79, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi, with her loving family at her side. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 9 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, with Reverend Jimmy Dempsey officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Memorial Cemetery in Louisville.

Faye was born in Winston County, Mississippi, on April 16, 1944, to James Elvis Black and Ruby Eaves Steed. She was a member of West End Baptist Church. Faye was a homemaker who dearly loved and enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Faye is survived by three children: Pam Hall and husband, David, of Starkville, Mississippi; James King and Jerry Lee King both of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Granny” to her four grandchildren: Daniella (Jeremy) Stewart, Tom (Lana) Knotts, Robyn (Chris) White, Matt (Sara) Hall; and her seven great-grandchildren: Kaylee White, Tyler Langford, Lenora Knotts, Thomas Langford, Stetson Knotts, Cooper King, and Jolee Knotts; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny King; son, Jeff King; her parents; and her brother, Lionel Warner.

Serving as pallbearers are Jerry Lee King, Tom Knotts, Brandon Coleman, Christopher Coleman, Jeremy Stewart, and Chris White. Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Langford, Thomas Langford, Stetson Knotts, and Cooper King. Memorials in honor of Faye may be given to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation online at bcrf.org.
