Mable Joyce Burks Eaves, 69, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Glynn Barker and Bro. Marlon Adcock officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Jackson Field Cemetery.
Joyce was born December 24, 1953, to William and Christine Lang Burks in Galesburg, Michigan. She was a member of First Apostolic Church of Louisville. Joyce enjoyed working in the flowers in her yard as long as she was able to do so. She worked at TRW for many years and later, she enjoyed helping others which led to her sitting with those that needed special attention. Joyce was very family oriented; she dearly loved her family and loved to cook for them.
Joyce is survived by three sons: Jamie Eaves and wife Maegan; Michael Eaves; and Matthew Eaves all of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Granny” to her grandson, Jason Eaves. Joyce also leaves behind her sister, Linda Eaves; and her brother, Kenny Burks. She was preceded in death by her parents; and the father of her children, Paul Eaves.
Memorial contributions in honor of Joyce may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital online at stjude.org.
