Billy James Kelly

Billy James Kelly, 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Noxapater, Mississippi, on Monday, December 26, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, at Hight Assembly of God Church in Noxapater with Bro. Tom Bentley and Bro. Jimmy Moore officiating. Visitation will also be the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will immediately follow the service in Hight Assembly of God Cemetery.

Billy was born March 14, 1947, to James and Frances Swindle Kelly in Winston County, Mississippi. He was a faithful member of Hight Assembly of God Church where he willingly served as needed. Specifically, he served for many years as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Currently, he was serving as the Assistant Sunday School Superintendent. Billy was retired from Taylor Machine Works where he was a Quality Control Inspector. He was a well-loved, highly respected, family-oriented man.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Carolyn Winters Kelly; and his children: Mathew Kelly and wife, Kelli, all of Noxapater; Tina Price, and husband, Roger, of West Point, Mississippi; and Gary Kelly of Richland, Michigan. One of his greatest joys was being “Papaw” to his five grandchildren: Roger Price, Jr., Lexus Price, Jameek Price, Zameek Price, and Bryce Kelly; as well as his two great-grandchildren: Jamir and Zariah. He also leaves behind three sisters: Janice (Kenneth) James, Betty Jean (Ricky) Boler, and Helen Yates; and two brothers: Paul (Nancy) Kelly and Jimmy (Linda) Kelly; and his brother-in-law, Ralph Wilkes. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joyce Wilkes; and two brothers-in-law Jody Houston and Shelby Yates.

Serving as pallbearers are Bryce Kelly, Jameek Price, Lexus Price, Roger Price, Jr., Zameek Price, and John Damon Snow. Memorials in honor of Mr. Kelly may be given to Hight Assembly of God Cemetery Fund, 2224 Hight Moore Rd, Noxapater, MS 39346.
