Donald Elijah Sibley passed away Monday, September 27, 2021, surrounded by family at his home in Choctaw County. Donald battled Glioblastoma (brain cancer) for 5-1/2 years. He would have been 70 years old in November.
Donald retired after working over 35 years with the Mississippi Forestry Commission. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, skilled archer, and enjoyed doing taxidermy work for many local sportsmen.
Private graveside services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., at the family cemetery near his home. There will be no visitation.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patsy Sibley; his mother, Sally Sibley; 2 sons, Don(Chirsta) Sibley of McCool, MS, and Alan(Melissa) Sibley of Ackerman, MS; 2 brothers, Paul Sibley and Joe Sibley both of Walthall, MS; 1 sister, Sarah Walzer of Walthall, MS; 5 grandchildren, Anna Sibley, Ian Sibley, Rachel Sibley, Ellen Sibley, and Landon Sibley.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, W.C. Sibley and a brother, Wilburn Sibley.
