Graveside services for Mabel Ruth Hamilton will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 at 2 p.m. from Plattsburg Cemetery with Rev. Ed King officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. until departure at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hamilton, 80, of Union, died Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
She was a native of the Nanih Waiya Community of Winston County and was a longtime resident of Louisiana before moving to Union in 1993. She worked as a farmer of beef and poultry with her husband. Mrs. Hamilton was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Pattie (Ronnie) VanDevender; sons, Pete (Karen) Richardson and Jene Richardson all of Louisville; grandchildren, Coty and Zach VanDevender; great-grandchildren, Avery Clayton and Beda VanDevender; stepchildren, Betty Ann Lee (Dewayne) of Louisville, Wanda Burks (John) of Louisville, Dr. Lisa Thomas (Chris) of Starkville, Gary Hamilton (Teresa) of Noxapater, John Glenn Hamilton of Dixon and Jimmy Hamilton (Janice) of Louisville and their families; sisters, Kathy Boney of Richland and Evelyn Vickery of Morton; brother, James Otis Crocker of Louisville; numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her husband, Alton (R.A.) Hamilton; parents, Earnest and Minnie Laura Crocker; sisters, Lillie Mae Crocker, Jewel Hatcher and Dean Regions; brothers, J.W. Crocker and Melvis Crocker.
