Ronald Ragan, 71, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021, at Merit Health—River Oaks in Flowood, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 25 at First Apostolic Church of Louisville with Rev. Mark Copeland and Rev. Antoine Stokes officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will immediately follow the service in Sun Rise Cemetery in Noxapater, Mississippi, with Rev. Glynn Barker officiating.
Ronald was born to Orville and Lucille Tucker Ragan on February 6, 1950, in Akron, Ohio. He was a devoted Christian and a member of the First Apostolic Church of Louisville. During his career, he worked for the Alabama Department of Transportation Highway Department. Ronald was an avid sports fan especially supportive of Alabama sports programs. He loved to sing, enjoyed having a good time with family and friends, and had a very outgoing personality—never meeting a stranger. He was a loving, kind man who particularly enjoyed children and animals.
Ronald is survived by his son Jason Ragan and wife Tracy of Noxapater. One of his greatest joys was being “Papa” to his grandson Nathan Ragan. He is also survived by his siblings: Celestine Bruce of Hurst, Texas, Roger D. (Cindi) Ragan of Pell City, Alabama, Pamela S. Privetti of Talmadge, Ohio, and Karen Furlong of Wetumpka, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Serving as pallbearers are Jason Ragan, Byron Foster, Eugene Hemphill, Drew Jones, William Shepheard, and Danny Sullivan. Memorials in honor of Ronald may be given to Sun Rise Cemetery, Noxapater, MS.
