Jimmy Glenn Sanders of Starkville, MS, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, MS. Jimmy was born December 5, 1944, in Birmingham, AL, to C.J. and Geneva(Buckner) Sanders. He was 76 years old, and was a retired Lieutenant with the Memphis, TN Fire Department.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021, 1:30 P.M. at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Bradley, MS, with Rev. Mike Sanders officiating. Family requests that attendees adhere to Covid guidelines by wearing masks and social distancing. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Linda(Elam) Sanders; 1 son, Charles "Chuck" Sanders of Memphis, TN; 1 daughter, Suzanne(Brad) Creely of Fulton, MS; 1 brother Charles R.(Susie) Sanders of Starkville, MS; 4 grandchildren, Lainey and Chase Sanders both of Memphis, TN, Zackery Creely of Starkville, MS, Alissa Creely of Fulton, MS; and 1 great-grandchild, Ryleigh Sanders of Memphis, TN.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, and 1 sister, Ginger Barton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
