Minnie Mae Reed

Minnie Mae Reed, 64, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at her residence in Meridian, Mississippi. Visitation will be Friday, October 3, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Ellison Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.Ms. Reed was born on February 4, 1950, to John Earl and Avis Eaves Hurt. She was a member of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church, and she worked in the cafeteria at Clarkdale County Schools for 10 years, where she made many friends.

Ms. Reed is survived by her daughter, Amy Reed (J. D. Broadway); and two sons, Tim Reed and wife, Tammy; and Kenny Reed and wife, Angela; all of Meridian. She has seven grandchildren: Morgan and Jeremiah Reed; Adam, Austin, and Colby Reed; Dylan and Kayla Reed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Reed; and her parents.

Serving as pallbearers will be J. D. Broadway, Dan Broadway, Johnny Dubois, Brandon Morgan, Lonnie Morgan, and Greg Reed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Meridian Oncology, 1704 23rd Avenue, Meridian, MS 39301 or to Blair Batson Children’s Hospital, UMMC Office of Development, 2500 N. State Street, Jackson, MS 39216.
