Mrs. Ruth Clark, 94, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Louisville Healthcare Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Friday, May 2, 2014, from 1 p.m. until service time at Flower Ridge United Methodist Church in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at the church with Rev. Larry Haggard, Rev. Scarlett Shepherd, and Rev. Thomas Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Flower Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Clark was born on June 7, 1919, to Ida Nance McKay and Gordon McKay. She was a member of Flower Ridge United Methodist Church where she was a founding member of the Women’s Missionary Society and she was a nurse’s assistant.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Kay Clark of Ridgeland, Mississippi; and her son, Timothy Ray Clark and wife, Kathy, of Louisville. Mrs. Clark has four sisters: Alice Fulton of Philadelphia, Mississippi; Edna Pickard of Meridian, Mississippi; Bobbie Cumberland also of Philadelphia; and Madeline Strahan also of Meridian. She is also survived by two brothers, James McKay of Brandon,Mississippi; and Hayword McKay of Madison, Mississippi; and her sister-in-law, Nellie McKay of Atmore, Alabama. She has two grandchildren: Beau Taylor and wife, Tanya; and Kenneth Taylor and wife, Leslie; and two great-grandchildren: Russ and Blake Taylor. Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Clark; her parents; and her brother, Wayne McKay.
