Janie Bouchillon, 64, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 4, 2014, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Nowell Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2014, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Junior Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Bouchillon was born on May 5, 1949, to Lena Massey Boatner and Mearl Boatner. She was a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church; a member of the Pilot Club of Louisville; and a member of the American Quarter Horse Association since 1979. After 36 years of teaching, she retired from the Louisville Municipal School District.
Janie is survived by her husband, Mike Bouchillon, of Louisville; and by two daughters, Heather Bouchillon also of Louisville; and Stefanie Powell and husband, Gabe, of Ft. Leonard Wood,Missouri. She is also survived by her mother, Lena Boatner; two grandchildren, Grayson and Jett Powell; her niece, Holli Ratcliffe and husband, Andrew; and grandniece, Massey Ratcliffe. Janie was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Doug Boatner.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Miller, Bradley Miller, Jimmie Webb, Jonathan Burt, Richard Nance, and Brock Burton. Honorary pallbearers will be Gabe Powell, Andrew Ratcliffe, Jay Stokes, Gary Boatner, Charlie Demboski, and Thad Webb. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or to Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1637 Boon Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
