Mr. Jr. White, 70, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny White officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jr. was born on April 13, 1944, to Betty Stevenson White and Coy White, Sr., and he was a member of the Revival Center of Louisville. He began his truck driving career at the age of 16 by driving for Mr. J. T. Reed; then he drove for Robert Dickerson; and for the last 12 years he has driven a truck for Baker’s Ready Mix.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lavern Collier White; and two sons, Michael White and Kenny White and wife, Kelli, all of Louisville. Jr. is also survived by his sister, Gloria Jean Edwards, and his brother, Tommy White, both of Louisville. He has eight grandchildren: Jessica White Jewell and husband, Mitch; Jon White and wife, Haley; Noah White; Bethany White; Elijah White; Gideon White; and Levi and Luke White; as well as, three great-grandchildren: Raelie, Laela and Denton Jewell. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty York and Margaret Eaves; and two brothers, Rickey White and Charles White.
Serving as pallbearers are Billy Don Baker, Paul Littrell, Stacy Littrell, Tommy Jenkins, Jon White and Noah White. Honorary pallbearers are Matt Boykin, Bobby Reed, Willie Earl Stevenson, Jerry Prisock, and the Staff at Baker’s Ready Mix.
