Maggie Flake Eaves, 83, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at Crystal Ridge Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2014, with Rev. Charles Rook, Rev. Mason Joy, Rev. Wayne Hill, Rev. Fred Frazier, and Rev. JimmyFlake officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the church. Interment will follow in the Crystal Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of Winston County, Mrs. Eaves worked at Spartus Corporation. She was a faithful member of Crystal Ridge Baptist Church, serving as secretary/treasurer, Sunday School teacher, and on various committees.
Survivors are her son, Jerry Hill and wife, Gale; and one daughter, Joyce Smith. She is also survived by five sisters: Ruby Rogers, Katherine McBrayer (Eddie), Minnie Hudspeth, Elaine Dooley (Tom), and Martha Fulcher (Lee); five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Eaves was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Eaves; two brothers, James Clinton Flake and Willie George Flake; and her parents, Bytha White Flake and Willie Flake.
Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews: David Flake, Ray McBrayer, Ronnie Flake, Carl Flake, Mike Robertson, and Ritchie Hudspeth. Honorary pallbearers are her brothers-in-law: Harley Eaves, Fred Frazier, Wayne Hill, Eddie McBrayer, Tom Dooley, and Lee Fulcher.
