Terry Wayne Warren

Terry Wayne Warren passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at VA Home in Kosciusko, MS. Terry was born November 10, 1947, in Mobile, AL, to Jack P. and Frances(Walker) Warren. He was 73 years old. Terry was a retired Air Force veteran.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021, 11:30 a.m., at Bethsalem Presbyterian Church near Ackerman, MS. Visitation will be held at Coleman Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. prior to the graveside service.

Terry is survived by 8 daughters, Dodie Skinner of Paxton, IL, Betsy Clingenpeel Seals of Texas, Theresa Truax of Nebraska, Cora Jackson of Louisiana, Sarah Carter of Louisiana, Olivia Goss of Louisiana, Mary Pace of Louisville, MS, and Linda(Ricky) Curtis of Louisville, MS; 1 brother, William J."Bill" Warren of Mobile, Al; 3 sisters, Carolyn Perren of Villa Rica, GA, Gail Garduno of Forest, MS, Mary Warren of Forest MS; and a host of grands, great-grands, nieces, and nephews.

Terry is preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Dell Miller, his parents, and 1 brother, Jack P. Warren, Jr.

Elma Seay Williams

Elma Seay Williams, 87, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021, at her home in Louisville, Mississippi. A private family memorial service will be held at a later time.

Elma was born January 15, 1934, to Earl and Thelma Seay in New Hebron, Mississippi. She was a member of Prentiss Presbyterian Church in Prentiss, Mississippi. Elma was an administrative clerk for Double Ponds Water Association in Prentiss. She enjoyed shopping and flowers but most of all, she loved her grandchildren.

Elma is survived by her daughter Becky Jones and husband Gary of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “MawMaw” to her four grandchildren: Jana Rebecca (Tillis) Patterson, Jason Ryan Jones, Michael Carroll, and Ashley Thompson; as well as her six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Elma was preceded in death by her husband Louis M. “Tut” Williams, Jr., her daughter Janie Williams Stamps, her son Marcus Olin Williams, and her parents.

Charles N. Peay, Jr.

Charles N. Peay, Jr., of Ackerman, MS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 28, 2021, at Kosciusko, MS, VA Home. He was born February 2, 1930, to Charles, Sr., and Trannie Ozelle(Whitlock) Peay. He was 91 years old.

Mr. Peay was a wonderful father, patriot, war hero, and God-fearing Christian. He was born in Cottonplant, MS, but lived many years in Alabama and Michigan. He was a Korean War Veteran having served with the 25th Infantry Division, recipient of the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Mr. Peay was a Combat Medic in the United States Army during the war and had also served in the Navy Reserves prior to this. He and his family moved to Mississippi in 1976 leaving employment at General Motors in Detroit, MI. Upon arriving in Ackerman, he served as a police officer, worked at the Steel Mill, and later at TMA where he retired. He also served in the Mississippi State Guard retiring as Colonel and served as a volunteer fireman for over 42 years. He was always giving, polite, friendly, and caring to everyone in the community. His favorite hobbies were gardening, making sure there were always Vidalia onions for Margaret, and an extra row or two of cucumbers for Charles to take downtown and sell. He also enjoyed ham radio. His call sign was WD5GHH, and he was an affiliate of the Army MARS Network. He enjoyed fishing with his wife and parents, and often deer hunted as well. Above all, he loved his children. No matter the struggle, pain, or discomfort, nothing hindered his love and devotion to his children. Even at 85 years, he drove his son, John, numerous times to Jackson, MS, for cancer treatments, and took care of him in his last days. He also, at a very old age, spent many years installing Life-Lines for the elderly.

Mr. Peay is survived by 3 sons, Charles Peay of Las Vegas, NV, Terry Peay of Glenmore, PA, Kenny Peay of Goshen, IN; 3 daughters, Michelle Dabney of Tucson, AZ, Joan Hulbert of Newport Beach, VA, Barbara Dunbar of Virginia Beach, VA; 1 beloved niece, Catherine(Bill) Brickhill of Bartlett, TN, who played an important part helping in the last days of his life, while also caring and attending to her own father, Clifford,(Mr. Peay's brother), who passed away just two days after Mr. Peay. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and several great-grands.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Margret Peay, his parents, Charles N. Peay, Sr., and Trannie Ozelle(Whitlock) Peay, 1 son, John Peay, and 1 brother, Clifford Eugene Peay who passed away in Brooklyn, MI, just two days after his own death.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS, with Rev. Danny Irvin officiating. Visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to service time.

Joyce Jowers Sykes

Joyce (Earlene) Jowers Sykes answered her eternal call on July 30, 2021 after 92 years full of life on this earth. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 2nd, at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Heath Hillman officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home, and Monday at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Harmony Baptist Church cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Nanih Waiya on April 28, 1929, to Ludie Slawson Jowers and William Cassel Jowers, Joyce was the second oldest of 8 siblings. Her rural upbringing taught her hard work, as she often helped her family out in the fields and around the house with the younger children. The family attended Harmony Baptist Church, and Joyce came to know the Lord at an early age. This foundation in faith would remain strong all of Joyce’s life and shaped the positive and resilient attitude she always maintained.

Upon graduating Calhoun High School in 1949, Joyce was recruited to work as a fingerprint technician for the FBI. Taking a fearless leap of faith, she left the cotton and corn fields of Mississippi for the big city of Washington, D.C where fate had one more surprise waiting for her: Ted Sykes, her husband of 63 years. The two were married on February 18, 1955 and shared the adventure of a lifetime, traveling across the continent with the military. Ted’s assignments with the Air Force took them from Flin Flon, Manitoba to Honolulu, Hawaii and everywhere in between. Joyce served a military career in her own rite, managing countless relocations, hosting international diplomats, and supervising the home-front with her daughter LaResa while Ted worked abroad.

After Ted’s retirement, Joyce was happy to return to her Winston County roots, calling Louisville home for the last four decades of her life. Here, she was an active member of First Baptist Louisville and enjoyed attending Bible study and Wednesday night dinner each week and being involved with the Women’s Missionary Union. She also volunteered at the Winston County Medical Center, overseeing the gift shop at the hospital for several years.

Joyce was a member of the Louisville Garden Club and Louisville Homemaker’s Club. She had a green thumb and could make just about anything grow. At home, she prized her African Violets, and she and Ted grew a garden every summer. Her famous fig preserves couldn’t be topped, and no holiday gathering was complete without her homemade turkey dressing. She was also a talented painter and a master quilter, giving new life to fabric scraps and old clothes. Nothing ever went to waste in Joyce’s house.

We were blessed to learn many lessons from her like how to trust the Lord and love your family, how to never take more than you need, and how it’s not really Christmas until Bing Crosby sings.

She is reunited in Heaven with her husband Ted, sisters Jewel Crocker Ricks and Martha Jacobsen, and brothers Charles Alton Jowers, Hershel Warren Jowers, William Curtis Jowers, John Denton (J.D.) Jowers, and Larry David Jowers.

Her spirit lives on in her daughter LaResa (Dennis) Swisher, granddaughters Kayleigh (Ian) Few and Hannah (Kyle) Burton, and great-granddaughter Madeleine Joyce Few. Thank you for teaching us, loving us, and being a part of our lives. She also leaves two sisters-in-law, Gladys Jowers and Leila Jowers.

Also mourning Joyce’s loss are her caretakers: Linda Mills, Frozene Frazier, Charlene Mayo, and Dot Papalambros. Thank you for all of care and kindness you have shown our mother and grandmother over the past 3 years. You have been such a blessing to our family and made Joyce’s wish to spend her final days comfortable in her own home possible.

Memorials may be made to the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Linda Moore Douglass

Linda Moore Douglass, 76, of Louisville, MS passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 at her residence. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon, MS. Bro. Glen Barker will officiate. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery in Macon. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of the arrangements.

 
Linda Moore Douglass was born in Macon, MS on July 31, 1944 to the late William B. Moore and Lucy Lavada Cooper Moore. She was a graduate of Brooksville High School and attended Bethel College for a short time. She married Lester Lee Card and they raised their children for the next few years. She later married Lee Douglass and they made their home in Louisville, MS. She was first of all a housewife and homemaker but she also worked at The Spot, her father’s restaurant in Macon, among other places. Linda loved music, but she was an especially avid fan of Conway Twitty. After her husband’s passing, she enjoyed going to the New Beginnings Center for Adults in Philadelphia, MS where she enjoyed visiting and doing crafts. She loved cross-stitching and solving find-a-word puzzles.

 
Linda M. Douglass is survived by her daughter: Wendy Conner (Danny) of Preston, MS and her two sons: Bubba Card (Michele) of Nanih Waiya, MS and Will Card (Addy) of Livingston, AL. She also leaves to mourn her passing her two sisters: Esther Howard of Brooksville and Martha Derusha (Gene) of Toomsuba, MS and one brother: Billy Moore (Sarah) of Brooksville, MS as well as eighteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister: Jimmie Ruth MacBrayer; husbands: Lester Lee Card and Lee Douglass and her stepmother: Henrietta Moore.

Jonathan Headd

Jonathan Headd, 82, of Louisville, Passed on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at his home. Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 11 a.m., from Beck Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Union Chapel Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, from 4 until 6 p.m., from the Funeral Home. Beck Funeral Home of Louisville in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Headd, was born March 14, 1939, to the parents of Cabot Headd and Essie Austin Headd in Winston County Mississippi. At an early age he joined Union Chapel M. B. Church and gave his life to Jesus Christ. He attended Zion Ridge Elementary Scool and graduated from Louisville Colored High School in 1959. He moved to Detroit, MI., and faithully worked at General Motors and met the love of his life, Del Marie Daniels and joined in Holy Matrimony in 1965, and to this union one child was born. After retirement he returned to his hometown of Louisville in 2010 to enjoy the fruits of his labor. He enjoyed hosting an annual Fish Fry for family and friends. He was a faithful member of Union Chapel M. B. Church. 

Jonathan, was preceded in death by his loving spouse and parent, (5) Brothers, (3) Sisters and 1 grandson. He is survived by; (2) daughters, Joann (Oscar) Eiland, and Bernadette Headd; (1) Son, Reggie (Kathy) Hughes; three grands;(4) great grands; Sister, Jerry Clark, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other relatives and friends.

Jo Helen Todd

Jo Helen Todd, 75, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at her home in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Thursday, July 29 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Friday, July 30, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rob Faulk officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Beth Eden Cemetery.

Jo Helen was born February 2, 1946, to Bobby and Frankie Maddox Culwell in Louisville. She was a member of South Louisville Baptist Church. Jo Helen began her working career as a hair dresser. She also enjoyed working in the tower at Williamson and Sons Raceway in Nanih Waiya. Next, she taught three and four-year-old kindergarteners at South Louisville Daycare. For a time, she worked at TRW and later devoted 30 years to Wal-Mart after which she retired. After her retirement from Wal-Mart, she decided to pursue her favorite hobby and purchased Flowers from the Heart Florist in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Jo Helen also enjoyed cooking and she was known for her ceramics.

Jo Helen is survived by her husband of 56 years Bobby Joe Todd, her daughter Lisa Strickland, and her mother Frankie Culwell all of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Granny” to her three grandchildren: Blake (Emily) Williamson, Missy (John) Williamson, and Brock Strickland; and her three great-grandchildren: John Cole Williamson, Paisley Rae Williamson, and Shelby Williamson. She also leaves behind to mourn her passing her sister Dot Eaves, her brother Jerry (Sandra) Culwell, her sister-in-law Cindy Todd, and two brothers-in-law Donnie (Kay) Todd, and Karey Todd as well as her loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Jo Helen was preceded in death by her father Bobby Culwell and her brother-in-law Mike Eaves.

Barbara McMillin Webb

Barbara McMillin Webb, 84, passed away in her home surrounded by family July 23, 2021. Graveside services will be 11am Monday, July 26, 2021 at Memorial Park in Louisville, MS. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Webb, a native of Louisville, was a graduate of Louisville High School, Mississippi University for Women and Mississippi State University. She was in education for 43 1/2 years, ending at Copiah- Lincoln Community College as the director of the Upward Bound program. She was chairman of the food committee for the Copiah County chapter of the Heart Association for 20+ years and was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, Hazlehurst.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Larry Webb in 2006 and her brother, James F. "Jim" McMillin.

Survivors include, son, William L. Webb, Jr. (Jessie) of Raymond; daughters, Valerie Calhoun of Hazlehurst and Amanda Barker (Mike) of Pelham, AL; grandchildren, Erin Gioia, Elizabeth Gioia, Ryan Barker, Lindsey Insalaco, Kevin Barker, Webb Calhoun, Marti Calhoun, William McMillin Webb and Charley Suzanna Webb; 1 great grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the Heart Association or to 1st Presbyterian Church, Hazlehurst.

Karen C. Orr

Karen Sue(Chamberlain) Orr passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021, at her residence in Ackerman, MS. She was born on August 9, 1944, in Chicago, IL, and was 76 years old.

Karen was a special lady in this community and deeply loved by her family, friends, and church family. She was a devoted member at Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church and always supported the church faithfully. Her We Care Group meeting on Wednesday mornings was the highlight of her week, and she enjoyed the fellowship with each attendee, making life-long friends with each. She also loved her pups, which were her family too, and the community cats that showed up on her porch every day for food and attention!

Karen was a faithful employee, and held many clerical/administrative positions in several jobs before her retirement. She held positions with companies in California before moving to Mississippi. Upon her move to Ackerman, Karen worked in clerical postions at Belwood, and later worked with the Department of Human Services where she retired after appoximately 6 years.

During her latter years, Karen faced physical issues that limited her time in some of the things that she enjoyed. But, thankfully, there were special friends who walked with her and kept her active and cared for during the difficult days. We would like to thank each of them for their love and support. They each held a special place within her heart.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., at Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Jerry Lawson officiating. Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman, MS, is in charge of all arrangements. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. till service time at the church. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery.

Karen is survived by 2 daughters, Sandie Keister of Bakersfield, CA, and Barbara(Scott) Wade of Florida. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Luther Orr, and her parents.

Memorials may be made to Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Ina Ainsworth

Graveside services for Ina Ainsworth will be held Monday, July 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from North Bend United Pentecostal Church Cemetery with Rev. Benny Alford officiating. Mrs. Ainsworth, 78, of Bay Springs, MS, died Friday, July 23, 2021.

Ina was a native of Neshoba County and a resident of Bay Springs for the past 26 years. She was a graduate of Longino High School in 1961. She loved to crochet, read, do puzzles and watch wrestling.

Survivors include daughters, Penny Michelle Ainsworth (James Baughman) of Louin, and Misty Dawn Gregory (Trey Upton) of Stringer; son, Tony Dewayne Ainsworth (Leann) of Bay Springs; grandchildren, Austin, Caitlin and Brittany Gregory, C.J. and Hunter Upton, Kambron and Kloey Ainsworth; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Bella Strong; mother, Lucille Williams of Philadelphia; sisters, Pearl Price, Charlotte Pilgrim, Aletha Thomas all of Philadelphia and Diane Vincent of Louisville; a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ainsworth was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Williams; sister, Vicki Williams; grandson, Timothy Ainsworth.

James Wilbur Maness

Wilbur Maness passed away at his home on July 15, 2021. He was born August 7, 1967, and lived his entire life in Ackerman, MS. He is survived by his mother, Sybil Maness of Ackerman, his daughter Jennifer Sims of Sturgis, his significant other, Cindy Weeks of Ackerman, and 2 sisters, Ann Reese of Woodland, and Vickie Barksdale of Senatobia. Wilbur leaves 2 grandchildren, Alex Rich and Emilee McGinnis of Ackerman.

Wilbur currently owned and operated Choctaw County Recycling in Ackerman. Everyone will also remember his mechanic and tire business. Wilbur was a true business man, yet was always willing to help anyone that needed it. His life will be celebrated in a memorial service on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS. Visitation will begin at noon and the memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Wilbur's memory to the American Diabetes Association.

Ernest L. Beasley

Ernest L. Beasley, 74, of Bowling Green, KY., passed on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the Medical Center, Bowling Green, KY. Helen Virginia Stevenson Collier

Helen Virginia Stevenson Collier, 82, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 23, 2021, at her home in McCool, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Monday, July 26, at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church in McCool with Bro. Roger Griffith and Bro. Bobby Parish officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at the church from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Helen was born November 21, 1938, to Maxie and Neva Gladney Bradberry in McCool. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church of McCool. Helen retired after devoting 35 years to the Spartus Corporation. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to cook for them to enjoy. Helen also liked to go…sometimes they made two to three trips a day to town most times accompanied by their dog, Little Joe!

Helen is survived by her husband of 24 years James Collier, and her children: Leon Stevenson and wife Cindy of McCool, Dianne Bunn and husband Mark of Ackerman, Mississippi, Chris Stevenson and wife Debra of McCool, Diane Miller of Ackerman, Daniel Collier and wife Sonya also of Ackerman, and Donna Ross and husband Benny of Huntsville, Alabama. One of her greatest joys was being “Mamaw or MawMaw” to her 18 grandchildren and her 17 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind to mourn her passing a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Hervie Lee Stevenson, her parents, and her siblings Mary Hunt, Johnnie Stevenson, and Maxie D. Bradberry.

Serving as pallbearers are Mackey Bradberry, Mark Bradberry, Mikell Bradberry, Tyler Collier, Floyd Morgan, and Myron Stevenson. Memorials in honor of Helen may be given to Mt. Zion Presbyterian Cemetery, c/o Brenda Cagle, 199 Gordon Road, McCool, MS 39108.

Gaylia Anne Romedy

Gaylia Anne Romedy, 83, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at her home in Philadelphia, Mississippi.

Anne was born July 29, 1937, to Vernon Augustus and Elva Lou Dempsey Horton in Winston County. She was an avid reader and loved to work in her yard. Anne retired from Wal-Mart where she worked for many years as a sales associate.

Anne is survived by her children Debra Anne McQuillen and husband David of Philadelphia and Charles Victor “Vic” Romedy and his wife Beth of Meridian, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “MawMaw Anne” to her four grandchildren: Kylie Morgan, Megan Warren, Casey Warren, and Connor Romedy; as well as to her five great-grandchildren. 

Also left to mourn her passing is her sister Jean Ford; two brothers Bobby and Dwight Horton; and special family friend Danny Albritton. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Romedy, her parents, and her brother James Donald Horton.

Eloise Reed Richardson

Mrs. Eloise Reed Richardson, 73, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 24th, at Murphy Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Mark Mayo and Rev. Trent Jaudon officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Murphy Creek Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Eloise was born October 11, 1947, to Fred and Ruth Reynolds Reed. She was a 1965 graduate of Louisville High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, as well as earning her Master’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and her Specialist’s degree in Administration and Reading, all from Mississippi State University.

Eloise was the State Director for Adult Education for the state of Mississippi for 28 years. During her career as an educator, always passionate in the adult learning arena, Eloise was recognized by her peers as an outstanding leader, being awarded several notable accolades. In 1989, Eloise was awarded the MS Military Department Civilian Meritorious Service Award and was made honorary Command Sergeant Major by Brigadier General Denver Bracken for administering 4,200 GED exams to soldiers of the Guard. She was honored in 2004 with the Delta Kappa Gamma Red Rose award for her contributions to GED Testing and the status of women in education. In 2006, Eloise accepted national recognition from the GED Testing Service by receiving their Extraordinary Service Award for her efforts to secure and restore GED Testing following the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. In 2014, Eloise was honored by receiving the National GED Administrator award from GED Testing Service and was recognized at the national convention in Long Beach, CA.

As the State Director for Adult Education and High School Equivalency, she served in a leadership role on the Board of Directors for the National Association of State Directors for Adult Education. She worked closely with the national Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education to develop policy, guidance, and professional development impacting adult education across the United States. Eloise worked with community colleges, community-based organizations, public schools and correctional facilities to provide quality adult education programs across the state impacting hundreds of thousands of individuals in Mississippi.

Peers remember Eloise as having care, concern and empathy for adult learners. She served as a national leader, mentor and coach to new state directors on many occasions. Her dedication and leadership helped with federal adult education program. Eloise leaves behind a legacy in adult education in the state of Mississippi and on a national level.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Richardson of Flowood, MS; a son, Sean Johnson of West Monroe, LA; two sisters, Gail Henderson and Rochelle Jordan, both of Louisville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Brian Henderson, Mark Henderson, Kyle Donald, Will Jordan, Jake Donald, and Kyle Donald. Honorary pallbearers will be John Hodgson, Robert Hodgson, Graham Henderson, Brac Henderson, Judd Henderson, Richard Salmon, and Liam Donald.

Trecia Ann " Cookie" Moore

Trecia Ann " Cookie" Moore, 61, of Noxapater, Mississippi passed on Sunday, July 18, 2021 from Choctaw Residential Center in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Sunday, July 25, 2021 from Beck Funeral Home Chapel of Louisville, Mississippi. Burial will take place in the Mt. Pleasant #2 M.B. Church Cemetery of Noxapater, Mississippi. Visitation will be held 12:00 P.M. - 12:45 P.M. Sunday, July 25, 2021 from Beck Funeral Home Chapel of Louisville. Beck Funeral Home Louisville is in charge of all arrangements.

Ms. Moore is survived by two children Travis Moore and Ariel Moore. Two grandchildren Kaiden Lewis and MaKailah Moore. Five sisters, Dessie Clemons, Annie Lee Hudson ( Waddell), Priscillia Miller, Christine Thames, and Ivy Nunn ( Rufus). Four brothers, G.W. Hughes, Willie Lee Roberson, Hamilton Roberson, and Jerry Hughes. 

Pallbearers are Jeremy Hughes, Kendrick Hughes, NeKrandol Thames, Rufus Nunn, Troydrick Carter and NeKechie Hughes. The Officiating Minister is Latrecia Buie.

Marion Robertson Bateman

Mrs. Marion Robertson Bateman, 92, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Rush Specialty Hospital in Meridian, MS. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, July 23rd, at Vernon Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Eugene Duran officiating. Interment will be in Vernon Assembly of God Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the service time at the church. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Marion was born July 7, 1929, in Louisville, MS. She retired from TRW where she was a sewing machine operator, and she was a member of Vernon Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Bateman; her husband, James Paul Bateman; her parents, Vera Stokes Robertson and Wilbur E. Robertson, Sr.; one sister, Mavis Hanna; and five brothers, Willie Robertson, Floyd Robertson, Harold Robertson, Herman Robertson, and Steve Robertson.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Angie Hathorn of Louisville; two sisters, Maxine Robertson of Louisville and Margie Gully of Rogers, AR; two brothers, Wilbur E. Robertson, Jr. of Louisville, and Bob Robertson of San Juan Capistrano, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Barry Holloway, Mike Robertson, Ricky Peterson, Mike Robertson, Tate Hanna, and Dale Mann.

Freddy L. Thrasher

Funeral services for Mr. Freddy L. Thrasher will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Barry Fulton and Rev. John E. Stephens officiating. Mr. Thrasher, 64, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. He lived in Four Corners Community all of his life. He worked at Pearl River Resort for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Preceded in death: Father, Sammie Thrasher; Wife, Marjorie Thrasher; Infant daughter, Crystal Thrasher; Brother, Ricky Dale Thrasher.

Survivors: Partner, Cathy Clearman of Bailey; Daughters, Alison McGahey (John) of Philadelphia, Valerie Thompson of Philadelphia and Charlene Ryals (Travis) of Plattsburg; Mother, Virginia Pettie of Four Corners; Sisters, Vivian “Bug” Rasberry of Four Corners and Connie Dobbs of AL; (7) Grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews.
