Gwen Monk

Gwendolyn Owens Monk passed away on June 28, 2021, in Abingdon, VA. She was born in Jackson, Mississippi on October 28, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Sidney and Stella Holliday Owens of Jackson. She is survived by her oldest sister Esther Busby of Starkville, MS.

She graduated from Forest Hill High School in 1948. She attended Belhaven College and Millsaps College, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.

Gwen married James Taylor Monk, Jr. of Jackson, Mississippi on October 27, 1951. They were married 58 years and had 4 children: Melinda (Jesse) Brent of Kennesaw, GA; Sidney Franklin Monk of Kirbyville, TX; Angela (Dave) Benge of Jonesborough, TN; and Sheila (Scott) Matteson of Abingdon, VA. Gwen had 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Special family friend near and dear to her heart was Bobby Shields of Louisville.

Gwen and J.T. were longtime residents of Louisville, MS, where she was active in the community. They were members of First Methodist Church and attended the Ed Livingston Sunday School class and she served on the Altar Guild, where she loved using her talent of arranging flowers.

She was a member of Nanih Waiya Chapter of the DAR, where she served as Regent and in various other officer roles through the years. She initiated the fund-raising project and served as chair of the annual DAR Christmas Tour of Homes for many years.

Gwen was also involved in the Louisville Junior Auxiliary, Louisville Garden Club, Louisville Junior Fortnightly Club, and the Winston County Republican Party. She was selected as Winston County Woman of the Year in 1998.

After J.T.’s death in 2009, she married Aubrey Temples of Irving, Texas. They were married for 8 years. Since his death, she lived near her daughters Angela and Sheila in both Virginia and Tennessee, where they were blessed to assist in her care.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021, at 11:00 am at Porter Funeral Home Chapel, Louisville, MS, with visitation from 9:00-11:00. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Mike Childs of First Methodist Church will conduct the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons and husbands of granddaughters.

Mike Sennett

Mr. Walter Michael “Mike” Sennett, 75, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, at his home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 4th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sennett was born December 19, 1944, in Louisville, MS. He graduated from Macon High School, and served in the U. S. Navy. He retired from the railroad after 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eric and Helen Raines Sennett; a son, Scott Sennett; and three brothers, Hugh Sennett, Roy Sennett, and Donnie Sennett.

He is survived by his sons, Eric Sennett of Louisville, Michael Brian Sennett of Jackson, TN, and Kevin Sennett of Eads, TN; a brother, Pete Sennett of Oklahoma City, OK; one grandchild, Jennifer Sennett, and one great grandchild, Hailey Kelley.

William F. "Billy" Coleman

William F. "Billy" Coleman passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, MS. Billy was born August 6, 1946, in Louisville, MS, to William F. Sr., and Dora Onelle(Bagwell) Coleman.

Private family graveside services and burial will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at Enon Cemetery in Ackerman, MS. A short visitation for family will be held prior to services at Coleman Funeral Home.

Billy is survived by 1 son, Shain(Stephanie Clippard)Coleman of Booneville, MS, 1 daughter, Seana Coleman Bullock of Booneville, MS, 1 brother, Keith(Ann) Coleman of Ackerman, MS, and 1 grandson, Seth(Janna) Coleman of Oxford, MS.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother, Jerry Coleman.

Lynn Carr

Lynn Carr passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Choctaw County Medical Center in Ackerman, MS. Lynn was born June 25, 1966, in West Point, MS, to Charles Gaskin, and Shirley(Jones) Groceman.

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS, with Rev. Jerry Lawson and Rev. Ralph Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Baptist Cemetery near Ackerman, MS. Assisting pallbearers will be J.C. Holder, Max Hudson, Ben Carr, Tyler Flake, Josh Hough, Jake Hough, and Will Car. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Luke Carr, Tony Holder, and Kevin Hudson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Lynn is survived by her husband, Matt Carr of Starkville, MS; his mother, Shirley Groceman of Ackerman, MS; 1 daughter, Melissa(Tyler) Flake of Ackerman, MS; 1 son, Nate(Kelsey) Carr of Madison, MS; 2 brothers, Ray Groceman of Ackerman, Ryan(Kim) Groceman of Indiana; 2 sisters, Debbie Clark of Weir, MS, Janet Dale Roark of Hendersonville, TN; and 3 grandchildren, Gracelynn and Foster Flake, and Kate Carr.

Lynn is preceded in death by her father, Charles Gaskin.

Johnnie R. McAdory

 On Saturday, June 26, 2021, Johnnie Ruth Hatcher McAdory, passed away at age 85 and a half at her home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Harmony Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Jones, James Smith, and Bro. Jerry Lundy officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at the church from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Johnnie was born on December 20, 1935, in the Nanih Waiya community to John David and Florene Miles Hatcher. She was married to Leo Dennis McAdory for 45 years and together they raised three daughters and one son. Johnnie was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school class for many years. For more than 35 years, she worked at Spartus Corporation in the Shipping/Receiving Department. Johnnie was one of the last two employees to work at Spartus before they closed. During this time, she learned to drive a forklift which surprised herself! She said she never thought she would drive a forklift but got on it and enjoyed her work. Johnnie loved cooking, gardening, and fishing and she loved it when her family got together. She loved her family, friends, and her church family. Johnnie was well-known for her delicious coconut cake especially at church dinners!

Johnnie is survived by two daughters Lynn Smith (Jeff) Seward of Philadelphia, Mississippi, and Janet (John) Bradeen of Louisville; her son Larry McAdory, her son-in-law Steve Simpson, and a nephew who was raised as her brother Johnny Hatcher all of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “MiMi” to her grandchildren: James (Regina) Smith, Joey Smith, Stacey Durant, Stephanie Barrier, Shannon Smith, Kimberly (Joey) Burdine, Adam (Jennifer) McAdory, Dana (Danny) Sullivan, Thruett Kirk, Heather Goldman, Lance (Kaili) Goldman, Ashley Simpson (Thomas) Pruett, and Laura Simpson (Paul) Lee. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Christian Smith, Anna Gray, Austin Gray, Coleman Smith, Brantley Peebles, Cole Durant, Dylan Durant, Arianna Grace Barrier, Ashley Smith, Austin Smith, Joshua Kemp, Hailey Kemp, Breland Burdine, Isaac Burdine, Tyson Burdine, Kinzi Burdine, John Patrick McAdory, Wade Sullivan, Carley Sullivan, Nick Sullivan, Hensleigh Sullivan, Jazlynn Kirk, Harley Kirk, Layla Kirk, Courtney Goldman, Bryce Bragg, Katelyn Palmer, Anslee Claire Hicks, Braxton Bragg, Ty Hicks, Wesley Hicks, Ayden Pruett, Leslie Pruett, and her three great-great-grandchildren: Kendall Kohl Greer, Ayden Jace Durant, and she was looking forward to the birth soon of another great-great-granddaughter Emerson Elaine Harper. She is also survived by four sisters: Cleo “Anne” (Gordon) Evans, Faye Collier, Joan (J. W.) Holdiness, and Helen (Bobby) Hayes; in addition to a host of loved nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Leo McAdory, daughter Debbie Simpson, grandson Jason Palmer, son-in-law Stan Smith, her parents, and her brother R. E. Hatcher.

Susan Ard

Mrs. Susan Kean Ard, 68, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at her home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 29th, at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Don Boone, Dr. Heath Hillman, and Rev. Mark Mayo officiating. Susan was born September 21, 1952, in Starkville, MS, to Jack Curry Kean, Jr. and Eloise Wolfe Kean. She graduated from Starkville High School, and attended Mississippi University for Women. She worked for the Mississippi Department of Audit in Jackson for several years, and after she and her husband moved to Louisville, she was involved as a volunteer coach in many aspects of the basketball program at Winston Academy. She was a member of the Starkville High School 1967-68 Overall Girls’ Basketball State Championship Team. After being diagnosed with ALS, she courageously accomplished a bucket list feat by riding mules on the Bright Anger Tail in the Grand Canyon (20 miles). Susan was instrumental in the beautification of downtown Louisville with hanging baskets and flower pots, and was awarded Winston County Economic Development Woman of the Year in 2010 and in 2013. She was voted a lifetime member of the Louisville Garden Club in 2020. She enjoyed going to local car shows and was honored to lead Louisville’s Christmas Parade as Grand Marshal in her grandfather Pop’s restored 1948 Packard. She loved all outdoor activities including talking to her chickens, dogs, cats, horse, miniature donkey, Otis, and her Quaker parrot, Amos.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Michael Ard of Louisville; two daughters, Erin Ard and her husband, Thomas Lamey, of Salisbury, MD, and Anna Ard of Taylorsville, MS; a sister, Rebecca Kean (Tom) Starling of Jackson, MS; two brothers, Jack Curry (Lois) Kean, III, of Pelham, AL, and Steven Thomas (Elizabeth) Kean of Brandon, MS; two grandchildren, Camille Louise Lamey and Julian Lyle Lamey, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Casey Smith, Fred Nabers, Johnny Johnson, Adam Napier, Zac Couture, Joe Ward, Michael Starling, and Grayson Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Taylor, Phil Fancher, TJ Jennings, Chicken Dempsey, Dan Curran, Farrell Rigby, Justin Starling, James Ashley, David Gookin, and Jack Van Kean.

Robert Martin

Robert Bowen Martin, 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at his residence in the Nanih Waiya Community. Funeral services will be 11 a. m. Saturday, June 26 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Agnew officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will immediately follow the service in Vernon Assembly of God Cemetery.

Robert was born June 23, 1946, to J. L. and Ollie Brown Martin in Fort Myers, Florida. He was a retired GM certified mechanic. Robert was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a great husband and an awesome father.

Robert is survived by his wife of 48 years Kathy Whitehead Martin of Louisville. He is also survived by two daughters Wendy Watson and husband Richard and Tonya Glass and husband Ricky all of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “PawPaw” to his grandchildren Josh (Brooke) Dempsey and Channing (Dixie) Watson as well as two great-grandchildren Grant Kitchens and Larkyn Dempsey. He is also survived by two sisters Gloria Luke of Louisville and Faye (Eugene) Smith of West Point, Mississippi. Robert also leaves behind a host of loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Charles Edward Harris

Charles Edward Harris, 73, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Charles was born December 31, 1947, in Choctaw County, MS, to Edward Thomas and Ioma(Keen) Harris. His occupation was farming.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Weir, MS. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Weir, MS. Dora Deane (DeDe) McGee Fulton Scott

Dora Deane (DeDe) McGee Fulton Scott passed away in her home at Kirby Pines Community on June 21, 2021 at the age of 94. She was born on May 25, 1927 in Louisville, MS to the late Joseph Walter Triplett and Dora Deane Richardson Triplett.

DeDe graduated Valedictorian from Louisville High School in May 1945 and from the University of Mississippi in January 1949. She never made below an A in any subject throughout all of her years in school. She married Dr. John "Jack" L. McGee, Jr. of Louisville, on August 6, 1947 and together they raised four children in Memphis, TN. They were happily married for 42 years until his death in 1989. A few years later, DeDe relocated back to her hometown when she married Dr. Nolen Fulton in August 1991. They shared many wonderful traveling adventures together until his death in 2006. DeDe was married to Dr. Joseph Scott of the Kirby Pines Community from June 2008 until his death in 2016. They enjoyed writing poetry together and cherished the countless friendships they made during their golden years there.

DeDe was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was also an avid reader her entire life and enjoyed keeping a daily journal for over 80 years. In addition to these, she also enjoyed a variety of other hobbies throughout her life - collecting cookbooks & recipes, working in the yard, sewing & cross stitch, and playing on her iPad.

According to her family and friends DeDe was one of the kindest, sweetest, dearest, and most gracious people you could ever meet. She had the unique ability of never forgetting a name. She spent her life going out of her way to make people feel loved and special. As a result of her generous spirit, pleasant personality, and contagious smile, she was loved by many. DeDe led, as she always said, a very blessed life!

DeDe was preceded in death by her parents, her three husbands, and her daughter, Jo Jackson & son-in-law, Ricky Jackson.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of those she leaves behind - her daughters, Stephanie McVay (Billy) and Linda McGee, her son, Michael McGee (Terry), her grandson, John Michael McGee, and her stepchildren Lann Fulton, Carolyn Newhouse, Mike Scott, David Scott, Alan Scott, and John Scott; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Jewell.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 24 from 12:30 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:30 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. The committal service will immediately follow

Mary Elizabeth Scarbrough

Mary Elizabeth Scarbrough, 64, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11 a. m. Thursday, June 24 at Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Terrell “Mutt” Mayo and Bro. Junior Davis officiating. There will also be visitation on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Craig Springs Cemetery with Bro. Jeremy McCrory and Bro. Tim Buchanan officiating.

Mary was born June 18, 1957, to Marcell and James Knox Mooney in Jackson, Mississippi. She was a very active member of Friendship Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school class and being involved in any activities going on at the time. Mary loved to travel taking her grandchildren on vacations. She also planned a special individual shopping trip for each grandchild to celebrate their birthday. Mary loved her husband, children and grandchildren very much. She loved sitting on her back porch watching the hummingbirds, looking at her fountain and her flowers. Mary also enjoyed sharing God’s word with all the children she met. She worked for United Piping, Inc., for 41 years. She loved the Lord and she loved life!

Mary is survived by her husband of 18 years Ricky Scarbrough of Starkville. She is also survived by her children: Shane (Leslee) Fortenberry also of Starkville, Leigh (Scott) Childs of Madison, Mississippi, Wayne (Jessi) Scarbrough, Brad (Katie) Scarbrough all of Sturgis, Hannah (Wesley) Howell and Josh (Erica) Horton all of Starkville. One of her greatest joys was being “YaYa” to her grandchildren Hailey, Makenzie, Presley, Tyler, Emma, Avery, Dean, Addy, Dawson, J. W., Wyatt, Walker, Briggs, and Millie. She is also survived by her dad Clyde Wilson of Fulton, Mississippi, her sisters Edna O’Flarity, Cindy Goodwin, Lisa Sandlin, and Angie Wilson as well as two brothers Nelson Wilson and Ronnie (Linda) Wilson. Mary also leaves behind a host of loved nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Marcell and James Knox Mooney, her mother Nellie Louise Wilson, and her sister Millie Horton.

Barbara, was born to the parents of George Washington Carter and Vattie Young, on August 27, 1951, in Winston County Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Siblings, Joyce, Jerlene Leon and Alline.

Monie Phillips, Jr.

Mr. Monie Phillips, Jr., 82, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at his home in Lucedale, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 22nd, at Porter Funeral Home. Mr. Phillips was born October 13, 1938, in Noxubee County, MS. He graduated from Nanih Waiya High School, and was a retired machinist from MRS Trucking Company in Jackson, MS. He served in the Mississippi National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Monie Phillips, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Mae Hemphill Phillips of Lucedale, MS; three sons, Monie Phillips, III, of Florida, Marty Aaron Phillips of Lena, MS, and Monie Jason Phillips of Texas; two step-daughters, Robin Carter of Louisville, and Teressa Huntley of Brandon, MS; a brother, Paul Phillips of Centre, Al; and 9 grandchildren.

Harry Walter "Wally" Bennett, II

Harry Walter “Wally” Bennett, II, 63, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will be Monday, June 21, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a. m. Tuesday, June 22 at First Methodist Church with Bro. Mike Childs and Newlie Long officiating. There will also be visitation on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Memorial Cemetery.

Wally was born February 11, 1958, to Harry Walter Bennett, Sr. and Juanita Rivers Bennett. He was a member of First Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. Wally was a graduate of Louisville High School Class of 1976. He was very active in the Boy Scouts where he served as Assistant Scout Master influencing the lives of many young men. Wally loved to cook especially for his family and friends. With his love for people and his outgoing personality, Wally was a friend to many. He was well-known around Winston County as the owner of Bennett’s Do-It-Center. Most of all, he loved his family especially his grandchildren.

Wally is survived by his wife of 43 years Sharon Kirkpatrick Bennett, and his children: Jason Bennett, Jennifer Bennett Collier and husband Brian, and Jonathan Bennett all of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Dad” to his grandchildren Ella Claire and Julia Gregory. He is also survived by his sisters Dianne Bennett (Dave) Wells and Cathy Bennett (Eddie) Barnes. He also leaves his mother-in-law Joyce Frazier Kirkpatrick, brother-in-law Lee (Suzanne) Kirkpatrick, and sister-in-law Lisa (Arnie) Strait, as well as a host of other loved nieces, nephews, and friends. Wally was preceded in death by his parents.

Serving as pallbearers are Jason Bennett, Jonathan Bennett, Brian Collier, Brian Barnes, Clif Barnes, Ben Jackson, Tommy Kirkpatrick, and David Wells.

Mable T. Woodson

Mable T. Woodson of Sturgis died peacefully at home Thursday, June 17, surrounded by her family. She is the last surviving child of Marion Oscar and Pearl Taylor.

Ms. Mable was born April 1, 1922 in Kosciusko, MS and is a 1940 graduate of Weir High School. After graduation she moved to Jackson, MS where she began her 38 year career with the telephone company. After WWII she moved to Sturgis, MS where she met the love of her life, Crandall, and made Sturgis her home.

Ms. Mable was active in her church. She loved the Lord and wanted everyone she knew to know how great a God we serve. When asked how she was doing she would often reply, “I’m better than I deserve. He is mighty good to us all.” Her love for the Lord was apparent in her words and actions as she helped so many throughout her life.

Ms. Mable is survived by her son, Crandall (Judy) Woodson and daughter, Leah (Chuck) Brown. She is also survived by her grandchildren. Jessica (Matt) Wade, Daniel Woodson, Laura (Daniel) Forde, Amanda (Parker) Jacobs, Lauren (Weston) Armstrong, and Rebecca Brown along with five great grand children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, H. Crandall Woodson and 7 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10:00am at Sturgis Baptist Church with a service to follow at 11:00.

Billy Booth Sullivan

Mr. Billy Booth Sullivan, 91, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Baptist-Golden Triangle Medical Center in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 20th at Ellison Ridge Baptist Church, with Rev. Wes Jones and Rev. Charles Rook officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until service time at the church. Interment will be in Ellison Ridge Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sullivan was born on May 21, 1930, in Louisville, MS, to William Jackson and Alice Bertha Clay Sullivan. He was a retired material handler at Taylor Machine Works, and was also a farmer and cattleman. He was a member of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce McDonald Sullivan; his parents; four sisters, Jerleen Horn, Gundean Sullivan, Decille Hisaw, and Alice Clay Tingle; and five brothers, Grover Sullivan, Selby Sullivan, Randle Sullivan, J. W. Sullivan, and Roy Sullivan.

He is survived by three daughters, Vicki (Taylor) Tucker of Louisville, Lisa Morgan of Louisville, and Renee (Wes) Jones of Pickensville, AL; 9 grandchildren, Kiley Linch, Matthew (Laura) Tucker, Kelli Linch Pruitt, Clay (Jacqueline) Stanley, Jeffrey (Audrey) Tucker, Codi (Bubba) Parker, Dylan (Brooke) Morgan, Tyler (Brianna) Jones, Will Jones, and Allen (Vera) He; and great grandchildren, Santiago Tucker, Annabel Tucker, William Tucker, Austin Linch, Kyla Linch (Dakota) Roberts, Karigen Pruitt, Kashton Pruitt, Kaislee Pruitt, Kaiden Stanley, Makenah Stanley, Kinley Stanley, Merrick Stanley, Carlee Parker, Gunner Parker, Charlee Parker, Grayson Parker, and Rey He.

Pallbearers will be Kiley Linch, Austin Linch, Dylan Morgan, Jeffrey Tucker, Matthew Tucker, Tyler Jones, Will Jones, Randy Sullivan, Kenny Sullivan, Johnny Sullivan, Allen He, and Clay Stanley.

Ricky McArthur

Ricky Derrell McArthur, 67, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Sunday, June 20, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p. m. Monday, June 21 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bryan Madison officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Sunrise Cemetery in Noxapater, Mississippi.

Ricky was born May 21, 1954, to Clarence and Sudie Beth Hall McArthur in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He was a member of Mars Hill Pentecostal Church and was retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation. After his retirement, he enjoyed driving to various locations for Crowson Auto World picking up and delivering cars. Ricky enjoyed fishing and playing solitaire. He always had a smile and a joke for everyone he met each day. Most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them especially snuggling with his grandbabies. He enjoyed helping both of his sons at their homes whenever needed.

Ricky is survived by his wife of 49 years Martha Reed McArthur, and his two sons Chris McArthur and wife Melinda and Jason McArthur and wife Sandy all of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “PawPaw” to his grandchildren Elizabeth (Adam) Eubanks and Julianne McArthur and his great-granddaughter Adalynn Eubanks. He is also survived by his sisters Brenda McArthur and Sherron (Doyle) Parker, three sisters-in-law Melanie McArthur, Mildred Goodin, and Patsy Webb, and his brother-in-law David (Mary) Reed. He also leaves a special family friend who has been a next-door neighbor for more years than either can remember, Eric Reed, as well as a host of other loved family members. Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda Gail Hicks and his brother Ronnie McArthur.

Serving as pallbearers are Adam Eubanks, Luke Goodin, Mark Goodin, Samuel Goodin, Stephen Goodin, Abel Hernandez, Tim Manning, Eric Reed, and Mike Reed. Memorials in honor of Ricky may be given to Mars Hill Pentecostal Church, c/o Matthew Burks, 10310 Road 179, Philadelphia, MS 39350, to purchase Bibles for the Prison Ministry.
