Michael Antoine Stokes

Michael Antoine Stokes, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 16, 2024, at his home in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Saturday, August 17 from 5 p. m. until 7 p.m. at Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, August 18 in the Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dwayne Barrett, Michael Stokes, and Preston Foster officiating. The family will also receive friends on Sunday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service in Sunrise Cemetery in Noxapater, Mississippi.

Antoine was born April 5, 1962, to Billy Charles and Mary Inez Young Stokes. Due to his mother’s untimely passing, Antoine was blessed with a bonus mother, Cathryn Stokes, who loved him dearly. For the last nine years, Bro. Stokes has faithfully served as the pastor of First Pentecostal Church of Noxapater. He had a passion to reach souls and lead others to Jesus. Antoine has devoted the last 32 years to serving in the Maintenance Department of Taylor Machine Works. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming, especially taking care of all his animals.

Antoine is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Stokes; son, Michael (Keri Beth) Stokes; and daughter, Rebecca (Preston) Foster all of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Pop” to his three grandchildren: Luke Stokes, Lane Stokes, and Maggie Mae Foster. He is also survived by his parents, Billy Charles and Cathryn Stokes of Noxapater; his sister, Michelle (Terry) Bellew of Ackerman, Mississippi; and Scott (Christie) Stokes of Louisville; as well as his loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Inez Young Stokes; and his brother, Barry Stokes.

Serving as pallbearers are Scott Stokes, Terry Bellew, Jared Bellew, John Tabor Stokes, Hugh Barrier, and Zach Kemp. Honorary pallbearers are Bruce Ellis and Danny Keith Stanley.
