Dr. Eula Diane Wilson

Dr. Eula Diane Wilson, 72, of Newark, Delaware, formerly of Tupelo, Mississippi, passed on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the Christiana Care Christiana Hospital, Newark, Delaware. Diane, was born July 29, 1952 in Tupelo, Mississippi to the parents of Billy Wilson and Elnora (Sis) Wade Wilson. At an early age she united with Mount Pleasant M. B. Church, in Tupelo, MS., under the Leadership of Rev. W. H. Ratliff and served in many capacities of the Church and the Springhill District Association of Mississippi.

After moving to Wilmington, Delaware, she joined Eight Street Baptist Church, DBA, The Resurrection Center located at 3301 North Market Street, Wilmington, DE. She was an ordained Elder at the Church under the Leadership of Bishop Dr. S. Todd Townsend Sr. and Pastor, Dr. Cleo Vilina Townsend. From the Moment Elder Diane Wilson joined this church, she served and provided leadership for various ministries. She was one of the first female ordained deacons at the Eighth Street Baptist Church.

She was a Sunday School Teacher and facilitated several ordination trainings for new elders, deacons and ministers. She provided coordination of Communion and Baptism, assistance with teaching for Bishop's Bible Study online, leadership for the prayer ministries on Friday evenings and at 6:00 a.m. Also, Elder Diane was a gatekeeper for the prayer ministry. Elder Diane was the current Recording Secretary for the Governance Board of The Resurrection Center and member of the Levitical Order (Leadership ministry comprised of elders, deacons and ministers). Elder Diane Wilson was a serious unapologetic obedient servant of Jesus Christ. Diane was a member of the AKA Sorority.

She graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1970 where she was the class Valedictorian. She graduated from Itawamba Community College, AA, Degree, University of Mississippi, BS, Degree, Mississippi State, MS, Degree, and Mississippi State University, Ph.D. She taught at several universities retiring at Morgan State University, where she served as Medical Technology Program Director and Professor of Biology.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, August 25, 2024 at 2 p.m., from Mount Pleasant M. B. Church, 2335 Clayton Road, Tupelo, MS. 38804, Visitation will be Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., from Agnew and Sons Funeral Home, 337 College Avenue, Verona, MS. 38879. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Church Cemetery. Beck Funeral Home of Louisville in charge of arrangements.

Diane, is survived by; cousins, Osbey W. Beck, Jr., Robert A. (Sylvia) Beck, Barbara Crayton and Kay F. Beck, who were raised as siblings, and a host of other aunts and cousins. Livestreaming from the facebook page of Willie Matthews
