Walter Hale Gazaway, 81, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the Choctaw County Nursing Center in Ackerman, MS. He was born June 29, 1941, in Mississippi, to Benny and Bell Gazaway(Beard) Edwards. Mr. Gazaway was a retired employee of Flex Steel Industries. He was a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, 1:00 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS, with Rev. Rob Faulk officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. till service time at 1:00 at the funeral home.
Mr. Gazaway is survived by 3 sons, Terry Gazaway of Ackerman, MS, Samuel Wayne Gazaway of Sturgis, MS, and Tracy (Amanda) Gazaway of Pine Bluff, AR; 1 sister, Daisy Gorsuch of Goshen, IN; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Rugh (Oswalt) Gazaway; his parents; 1 son, Jerry Gazaway; 6 brothers, and 3 sisters.
