Ralph was born in Winston County, Mississippi, on July 23, 1941, to John and Lessie Mae Robertson Duran. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Ralph was an avid sports fan from high school through professional. He coached all three of his children in Little League. He loved his grandchildren and following them in all of their ambitions. Ralph retired from Taylor Machine Works after 40 years as a machinist.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Murle Hamilton Duran of Noxapater; and three children: Dennis Duran and wife, Mylinda, of Louisville; Ralph D. Duran and wife, Jodie, of Noxapater; and Susan McDaniel and husband, Jim, of Philadelphia, Mississippi. One of his greatest joys was being “PawPaw Ralph” to his grandchildren: Chance McDaniel, Heath (Evyn) McDaniel, Ty Duran, Morgan Duran, Madison McDaniel, and Wyatt (Candace) McDaniel; and one great-grandchild, Maverick McDaniel. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Kugle, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; and 10 siblings: Lennie Ree Ballard, Gracie Kelly, Nannie Baysinger, Homer, Horace, Lewis, Frank, Bob, W. W. “Boy” Duran, and Howard Duran.
Serving as pallbearers are Ty Duran, Heath McDaniel, Wyatt McDaniel, Donnie Duran, Larry Duran, and Mark Kugle. Honorary pallbearers are Edsel Adams, Chris Bates, Billy Wade Clark, Allen Goodin, Wendell McGee, and Bobby Stanley.
