Paul A. Beasley, Sr., 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Dowd officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service in Bevill Hill Cemetery.
Paul was born January 21, 1933, to Lynn and Thelma Ponder Beasley. He attended the Methodist church. Paul retired as a crane operator with Chrysler Corporation after 30 years. Later, he was a log truck driver and he loved fishing. After transitioning to the Winston Medical Center Nursing Home, he enjoyed sitting by the window so he could watch the log trucks as they drove by during the day.
Paul is survived by his son, Paul Beasley, Jr. and wife Bessie of Sturgis, Mississippi; and two brothers: Lynn Beasley, Jr. of Louisville; and Vernon Beasley and wife, Mary of Flora, Mississippi. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Scotty Beasley, Heather (Shannon) Dickerson, Jamie Beasley, Chris (Lesley) Beasley, Geoffery (Jessie) Lean, Tina Lean (Andy) Sixkiller, Shannon Hillard, and Cassie Merlini. Paul also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren: Coty Jones, Destini Beasley, Madison Beasley, A. J. Lean, T. J. Lean, Kylie Hillard, Lana Hillard, Mary McNaughton, Ricky McNaughton, Bryson Dickerson, and Amarie Beasley; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by two wives: Bonnie Calhoun Beasley and Helen Beasley; sons Alan and Shawn Beasley, daughter, Sandy Lean; his parents; three sisters, Merle Rogers, Marie Prisock, and Daisy Edwards; and his brother, Davis Earl Beasley.
