Johnny (aka) was born to Joe and Lizzie Cotton in Macon, MS. With a middle school education, he turned his love of fishing, hunting, and farming into a career and worked alongside his friend/brother for over 30 plus years. For most, it was a job, but for him, it was what he loved.
Through the years, he earned the nickname "Johnny on the Spot" because of his unavoidable impulse to help anyone. Regardless of what you needed. He was a caregiver from the heart and a workaholic to the soul. He saw what he did as a duty, not a sacrifice.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lizze Cotton: two siblings; Sarah Cutts and Susie Cotton. Left here to smile from memories are five nephews; Robert Cotton, Macon, MS; Leonard Cotton, Columbus, MS; Dewayne Cutts, Reggie Cutts, and Benji Cutts, all of Grand Rapids, MI. One niece, Ruthie (Leonard) Portis and great nephew, Javon Portis all of Meridian, MS.
