Brownie Eaves Jackson

Brownie Eaves Jackson, 90, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at her home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marcus “Markie” Jackson officiating with Ben Jackson assisting. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will immediately follow the service in Murphy Creek Cemetery.

Brownie was born December 14, 1930, to Andrew and Pearl Rogers Eaves in Louisville. She was a member of Wess Chapel Baptist Church. Brownie loved to cook and spend time with her family. She was especially known for her caramel cakes, pepper jelly, and biscuits. She loved working in her yard and garden and let her cardiologist know during her visit last year that she was still able to cut her own grass.

Brownie is survived by her children: Norma Bennett and husband Larry of Louisville, Leo Jackson of Flora, Mississippi, Lester Jackson and wife Shelia, and Mark Jackson and wife Karla all of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Maw” to her eight grandchildren: Chris (Kim) Bennett, Lacey Leigh Jackson (Gary Pugh), Ben (Maralyn) Jackson, Jenna (Seth) Chaney, Markie (Robin) Jackson, Brianne Jackson (Kyle Weeks), Shannon (Eric) Gregory, and Kava (Faith) Hunt. She also dearly loved her great-grandchildren: Kelli and Kassi Stevens, Taylor Jackson, Kaitye Grace and Whitten Jackson, Hunter and Hayze Gregory, Colt, Taylor, and Maci Hunt, and Hayz, Vallie Kate, and Zaxton Reed. Brownie also leaves behind two brothers Giles Eaves and John Arthur Eaves and her sister-in-law Grace Eaves as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer Jackson, infant twins Leslie Ray and Lisa Fay Jackson, her parents and her siblings: Beryl Luther, Reuben Eaves, Roger Eaves, Andrew C. Eaves, Jr., Nancy Isonhart, and Fred Eaves.

Serving as pallbearers are Ben Jackson, Grady Jackson, Kyle Jackson, Jeff Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, Seth Chaney, and John Eaves, Jr. while Chris Bennett will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Memorials in honor of Brownie may be given to Murphy Creek Cemetery Fund, 5420 Bond Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
