John Paul Gray, 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, in the Winston Medical Center Hospital in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 15, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Gray was born on June 29, 1938, to James Robert and Lelia Gordon Gray. He was an avid fisherman and a small engine mechanic at Gray’s Outdoor Equipment. Mr. Gray served his country in the United States Air Force for four years and was of the Baptist faith.
John is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wicker Gray of Louisville; and his sons, Michael David Gray and wife, Karen, of Sturgis, Mississippi; and Kenneth Neal Gray and his partner, Keith Salter, of Cordova, Tennessee. Mr. Gray is also survived by his mother, Lelia Gray; and his sister; Jane Gray Roberson, both of Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. Gray leaves behind four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Gray; and his sister, Joyce Gray.
