Mattie Mildred Taylor, 93, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Choctaw County Nursing Home in Ackerman, Mississippi. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 27, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2014, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Irvin officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.Mrs. Taylor was born on October 31, 1920, to Anna Elnora Bagwell Williams and Robert W. Williams. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church, and she assembled cabinets at Bellwood Cabinet Factory.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by two daughters, Bettye J. McCulloch of Ackerman; and Mildred Barnell Cochran of Byram, Mississippi; and one son, Barney Joseph Taylor and wife, Eunice, of Clinton, Mississippi. She also survived by three grandchildren: Kimberly Booth, Lisa Campbell and husband, Scott; and Kathy McCullough and husband, Mike. Mrs. Taylor has five great-grandchildren: Stephen Wills, Taylor Johnson, Cole Booth, Braden Campbell, and Conner Campbell; as well as one great-great-grandson, Braxton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Taylor; and her parents.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lamar Blaine, Jack Bowie, Warren Hunt, Randy Loper, Charles Maness, and Dan Wise. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
