Bessie Joy Wall

Bessie Joy Wall, 88, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at her residence in Noxapater, Mississippi. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on the day of the service from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Noxapater Baptist Church with Rev. Trent Bilbo officiating. Interment will follow in Noxapater United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Wall was born on December 29, 1925, to Bessie Pollard Kilpatrick and Roger Kilpatrick. She was a member of Noxapater Baptist Church, and she worked in the elementary library at Noxapater Attendance Center for several years. She retired from Sunbelt Ford Chrysler where she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper.

Mrs. Wall is survived by her son, Robert Wall, Jr., of Noxapater, Mississippi; her sister, Rebecca Becton and husband, John, of Madison, Alabama; her brother, William “Bill” Kilpatrick and wife, Sue, of Alexandria, Virginia; and her sister-in-law, Robin Kilpatrick of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She also has numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. “Bob” Wall, Sr; her sisters, Otis Caperton and Emma Haze Kilpatrick; her brothers, Pollard Kilpatrick and wife, Carol; and Dr. T. R. “Buster” Kilpatrick, Jr.; and her parents.

Serving as pallbearers will be Sammy Carter, James Coward, Bobby Holton, Jimmy Kemp, Chris Wells, and David Wells. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Barrier, Dale Coward, Jerry Estes, Therrell Smith, Grady Suttle, and James “Woody” Woodiel. Memorials may be given to Mt. Carmel Cemetery Fence Fund, c/o Noxapater Baptist Church, P.O. Box 251, Noxapater, MS 39346.
